Would flash be that amazing? I guess you would cast this and then cast an instant on one of your (were)wolves? It wouldn't trigger if you cast this in response to an opponent's removal spell.
Trample is here as a bonus to any pump spells you cast on your Partisan in addition to the token you make.
You're right about not being able to flash it in and get the benefit. For some reason I keep wanting to think this guy gives your wolves hexproof (sigh, if only). But hey, Flash still makes everything better, I guess!
having 3 wolves on the field, and casting expedite means a lot of wolves and alot of card draw
And it only gets more out of hand for each spell you play. There's so many fun deck ideas I don't even know where to begin.
Question on that, actually. Say I have Zada and this guy out there and cast Expedite on Zada. Would I be able to copy Expedite for the newly created wolf token or no?
Don't think so. Zada copies the spell, then the copies hit your werewolfs and trigger the token. At that point Zada's ability already triggered, so she would not create another bunch of copies for the new creatures (thus giving you an infinite army of wolfs)... At least I think.
That's what I thought and I'm sure that is the intent.

Seems interesting to me that this has trample. Huh
Hmm, why would they include additional encouragement to target this creature with spells? We'll need Jace to unravel this mystery!
lol no I get it, and even if this were a 3/3 for 4 it would make more sense, but without support it is just a 2/2 with trample, which is a little funny. Not unheard of, obviously, but still a little odd
The true mind can weather all the lies and illusions without being lost. The true heart can tough the poison of hatred without being harmed. Since beginning-less time, darkness thrives in the void but always yields to purifying light.
I invision a future where one is not mighty when he can silence a crowd with brutality,
but when he leaves them speechless with wisdom.
I'm SO SICK of the "too strong for Standard" argument. It's the new "Dies to removal". We can have a two mana 4/4 with a zillion abilities, but we can't just have Accumulated Knowledge. Makes sense.
Man, I was thinking of the one from invasion with kicker, which was always a favorite of mine, llanowar elite.
So yeah, the idea clearly has precedent, it just still reads a little funny to me is all

This dude is really strong, but I'd love to see him having a 3/2 body. Never really loved the 2 power tramplers. Definitely begging for temporary buffs, though.
The one thing I wish they did different was say "spell" instead of "instant or sorcery" so you could buff it permanently with auras and get wolves. Any auras granting Hexproof in standard? I forget.
I'm calling it right now- worst rare in the set. Even good limited players will find better bombs at common and uncommon no sweat. Worst. Episode. Ever.
I really do predict this to be our worst rare in set award winner. I'd be happier opening a jar of eyeballs, so I think anything worse is highly unlikely. This card wont just have zero constructed potential, but not be significantly better than a mass of ghouls in a draft.
Attack with your massive Wolf/Werewolf army,
cast Rally the Righteous on Zada,
and get many more Wolf tokens. (and all your Wolfs get +2/+0 for each other even the ones that does enter the battlefield)
good thing its restricted to spells not abilities or it would go infinite with so many things, whether a blasting station or [c]
Sunstrike Legionnaire[/c] or whatever
Can anybody else see some crazy combo deck using this guy and Zada, Hedron Grinder to periodically double your wolves and draw a ton off of expedite and slip through space and friends,

The more I think it over, the more realistic I see this deck becoming. Especially with Arlinn Kord. Just G/R; no need to get Temur involved.
Swinging with a bunch of unblockable wolves and having an equal number of untapped wolves seems pretty good - a lot will depend on what good evasion spells we get.
Seriously though, this set is making me want to play constructed, after sticking to EDH and limited for the past 7 years

Really? I mean, it's story stuff, right? That's got to count for something. (Maybe it's just that there are no other wolfir in the set...)
