this card is pretty sweet! a delayed ritual but with +2 mana after the fact instead of +1 like on a desperate ritual for example. this set is chock full of interesting cards.
Article speculates it could be part of a cycle and that seems pretty likely to me -- it's a good way to have common delirium enablers and we know Wizards likes its single-use enchantment cycles (Seals and Fonts being the two examples the article cites)
mmmm looks ok to me, shouldnt be busted. it is a delayed and temporary boost. Maybe cool for all in red but I doubt it will bust anything wide open. If I am wrong then then thats cool too, because I like busted lolol

The true mind can weather all the lies and illusions without being lost. The true heart can tough the poison of hatred without being harmed. Since beginning-less time, darkness thrives in the void but always yields to purifying light.
I invision a future where one is not mighty when he can silence a crowd with brutality,
but when he leaves them speechless with wisdom.
Lets you get batterskull out same turn as with Stoneforge mystic....
(albeit without tutor affect and batterskull can be countered.... but don't need to leave SFM on board for a turn and susceptible to removal).
I don't get why this is an enchantment rather than a red artifact, based on the name and the art. It's not like artifacts have to be colorless anymore.
I love the meta flavor text: "Yeah, this card might be broken, but we're going to give it a shot anyway."
I like the flavor text a lot. Is putting yourself behind a card for what's basically a good Fungal Reaches usage going to be playable? I guess it depends on if there's a broken enough turn 3 play using it.

No, but colored artifacts are not an Innistrad thing. I think it would be a little odd for an Innistrad artifact to have a colored cost and be colorless. But I agree the name does suggest artifact. It may have started out in development as an artifact.

RIP Batman guy. I hope somebody picks up the slack now that you are gone. Sick children need their Batman.
Not in the slightest.
If you play and sac this on the same turn, it costs 4 mana to produce 4 mana. Seething Song and Rite of Flame produce more mana than you put in.
If you put this down to use later, you're just paying 2 mana for a "do nothing" enchantment, essentially.

I agree. Other than the card type, I hope this heralds the return of red rituals (Dragonrage isn't very versatile in that you have to use the mana at a time other than a main phase). It vaguely reminds me of Basalt Monolith, but as a one-shot instead of being able to "recharge" it. It's probably most like Generator Servant, but less easily removed. It also allows fast mana in a way that doesn't increase the Storm count, or play with become busted with Pyromancer Ascension or similar copying effects, which makes it a little safer to print than previous rituals.
It seems like some of the mad scientists are going to be in red as well as blue this go around for Innistrad. Hopefully we see her more either in flavor text, Magic Story, or a card.

Still it allowed for some strong plays.

Still, this doesn't seem too bad. Pretty solid common.
