*several* posters here commented on wanting a BR version that plays well with Madness.
Well, tbh the original version already does. I tried him there and he was certainly not the weakest element of the deck. It was always the terrible, underpowered Madness (specifically RED Madness) options available at the time. I suspect that will be changing bigtime next year. Really can't wait to try it again..
Speaking of that old deck, I wonder if we might also see a very nice reprint next year. Incredibly powerful, totally on-color and on-flavor for red (and 'madness') and would be also be mechanically perfect to use with Madness cards. I do not think it is on the Reserved list either. Fingers crossed.
Significant expansion symbol eh? It must be cthulhu, surely.
I wonder if that eldritch rites YMTC will appear in this set. I doubt it but I just liked that design a lot sad it was disqualified for being outside US if memory serves.

"Yawgmoth," Freyalise whispered as she set the bomb, "now you will pay for your treachery."
Are people really mad that Liliana will appear? I guess people have different priorities, because I couldn't give a flying freezer about the lore, I'm just happy we'll see a new Liliana PW card.
I'd also want to say that I'd be surprised if Tamiyo didn't make an appearance in the block, but can they go two whole sets without printing a new Jace these days? Eh not too sure about that.
I think it's mostly just backlash against guesses that she would not be in to be honest. Concern about a reason seems unfounded in my opinion considering Innistrad is important for her regardless of her dark petition there, as it's where she honed her necromancy and is probably a place she's relatively fond of, especially considering it'a unlikely she likes to walk back to Dominaria considering her past there.
So if she wanted to find a new power to avoid using the Chain Veil's powers to pursue her demons, I'd expect the first place she'd head to that we are aware of to be Innistrad since it's probably the second plane she's most familiar and comfortable with. It's not like she's appearing on some random plane she has no association with.

So they're specifically holding back the expansion symbol, which indicates it's some kind of spoiler, right?
My bet would be it's just a mistake. My recollection is that in the past when they've left out the expansion symbol it's generally been a mistake.
No, I'm sorry I should have clarified. Trick specifically said they're holding it back.
I wonder if they're doing that because OGW's symbol might have made Kozilek too obvious regardless of his leak. I wonder what it could be that they're actively not revealing it.

JDA: Not sure how OGW's symbol points to Kozilek, if you hadn't already seen the artwork about him. His first appearance (Kozilek, Butcher of Truth) doesn't have the iconic crest that is the OGW symbol.
Certainly if Eldritch Moon's symbol looks anything like Emrakul, it's a good reason to 'hide' it. Of course, the Helvault also has the same basic shape. So I dunno. It might be a big Tibalt reveal, too.

Well, the pink references obviously the main color of Emrakul - and *it* is referred to as a lady now.
You just made me think of Emrakul with silk gloves on "her" tentacles. And a diamond ring. >_< "You know what they say: Diamonds are a girl's best food - I mean, friends. *lick* - Translated from Eldrazi"
What's so quaint about EMN's "pink" text is how it contrasts with SOI's blue text. And Jace just so happens to be the face for that set. Pink Girl, Blue Boy by coincidence or design?
MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
Since blood, sweat and tears was originally a 3-ser-block withe a core set somewhere in between and was changed to two 2-set-blocks with fears added, I would suspect the following:
They usually plan really far ahead, I mean we have spaghetti and meatballs confirmed. So when they shift from 3 to 2 blocks they obviously had a bit of work done. The original trilogy played on Zendikar with one Titan per set. With change they now have two blocks for Emrakul, the first set will be probably a search for clues about the eldritch horror which has fallen over Innistrad together with a bit of Nahiri/Sorin drama. And the second set will be the fight against the last Eldrazi with Lilliana joining the Gatewatch as black planeswalker.

No, I'm sorry I should have clarified. Trick specifically said they're holding it back.

I find this quite offensive to people who care about storyline. There are very thorough arguments for why having the story basically subordinated to marketing plans is bad in a long term. That it breaks, let's say, some accepted rules of good storybuilding and writing.
Similarly, returning Liliana to Innistrad does not quite make sense from her story development, but who cares? She was the poster face of old Innistrad, so she is back. It does not make the claims that this is bad/wrong storywise any less valid.
Just for the record, I am beyond being angry of this any more. Last time I was outraged were the "Elder Dragons" in DTK...since then, I just accepted this new order.
Yet, anyway, I hope you are really satisfied with yourself for landing this cheap shot on them, pal.

Despite all the predictions (and certainly, they make sense what with the name of the block) I doubt that Emrakul will be in the set: it's just not great writing. They foreshadow something big by saying Emrakul disappeared, then return her in the very next block? If I were in development, I would advise against it, especially considering that fighting Eldrazi was the entire plot of the last block. Innistrad is such a rich environment that they don't need a giant Eldrazi distraction to make it interesting. I want Emrakul to return, but not yet.
Unrelatedly, why couldn't they just kill Jace off in OGW? We're all so tired of his stupid hoodie-wearing face. Venting accomplished.
In terms of reprint hopes, I'm afraid you're all going to be disappointed as always: the kinds of reprints we see are not the kinds you want. Somebody even suggested Gamble. There's no cooler card in history... but it will never ever ever happen in a standard legal set. Wizards hates powerful spells, and likes powerful creatures: that's pretty much how it's been since... like Mirrodin. Not a dig at Wizards, just an observation.
Gonna make a prediction. Lili is the new evil that is being unleashed on the multiverse she's being corrupted by the chain veil and is trying to bring the oni back with it
I was actually thinking to myself earlier before this reveal, wouldn't it be neat to have Liliana as one of the antagonists in the first or second set, then have Jace help her out in exchange for her complicity with the Gatewatch, but then I remembered I guess the first Innistrad had her in heel turn role already if I assume we were supposed to be rooting for Garruk before AVR.

Caranthir: On the other hand, there are those of us who are quite fed up with those who believe that what they think should happen as the story is the story, and anything that deviates from it is wrong.
Liliana's story as far as we know it does not necessitate her going to Innistrad. OTOH, I think it's a mistake to assume we know everything. I can think of any number of developments that would make it quite plausible for Liliana to be on Innistrad. To which I get ridiculed, berated, and told I am 'wrong'. Treated, in fact, like a complete and utter idiot for having a different view of the story than someone else who feels more entitled.
In effect, the One True Story people are dangerously close to living in their own headcanon. Is the actual story WotC producing good from a narratological perspective? I'm not qualified to tell you. I can tell you, though, that is is canon.
I am seeing this very similarly to Star Wars. I abhor the prequels, and yet I don't deny that they're canon. (I know people who do.)
I can understand your dislike of tying story to marketing. OTOH, at least the story is more important and accessible to people.
Ahaha. I see what you did there.
I will buy a box of both sets if there is a card named The One Reborn.
Or if Mikaeus gets a new card called Mikaeus, Host of the Nightmare.
Surprised no one else has mentioned the fact that Liliana's outfit in the new art is much more akin to Liliana of the Veil than to any ofherotherarts, where she always has her midriff showing.

Confirms nothing other than that she wears the same outfit when she visits Innistrad. Though there are a few differences, like the color of the fur on her shoulder.
Oh hey, Jace was wearing a blue cloak in OTG, just like he did in Jace, the Mind Sculptor. So why didn't JTMS get reprinted in OTG?
New card =/= New outfit.

Maybe Nahiri is twisting the moon to cause havok in Innistrad.Makes sense for her to be crazy and insane afterall shes an oldwalker that was "forced" to stay on Zendikar to protect it and since she had a long time spam she would get insane due to be "stuck" in a prison making her mind unstable.Doesn't help that shes in a plane where insanity is incredibly comon
Wasn't said that the Moon in Innistrad had a powefull effect in the plane that it was made of Silver or some type of stone? Is feasible that Nahiri has the power to manipulate the moon to cause some crazy side effects in the plane
I don't know what's so absurd about Lili going back to Innistrad. We don't know the circumstances of her visit. I mean, we've seen that she seems to believe she needs Jace's help and, as far as we know, Jace will be Innistrad. That would be reason enough for her to go there and possibly help with something.
Added bonus of Innistrad probably being the closest thing she has to a home.
