What's up with the italic and bold tags in the number crunch threads. They don't work there.....
They should work fine. The problem stems from incorrect, invalid, or incomplete tags.
For example, in your Ixalan Name and Number Crunch I found at least one issue:
You have a line for the card Fathom-Fleet Plundering. Your line looks like this:
Fathom-Fleet Plundering (Sorcery)
You'll notice that the end of the tag is missing the forward slash so it throws everything else off. I tested this and found that correcting this line fixes all the other tags in your post.
I went ahead and deleted the thread I created about product images and art for Ixalan. Seams some would rather public ally make you out to be a fool and point you had made a mistake. Wish a mod could have intervened right away instead of where it escalated too. If the troll/flamer really wanted to point out that I made a mistake, he/she could have sent a private message & I most likely would have removed the thread.
Is this the message we want to send others? Try to do something helpful, but instead get get their reputation smeared? No wonder new posters get disenfranchised with this site. I've noticed not as many posts going up. Market Street used to be booming with conversation; but now it feels like a coal mining city that has been abandoned.
Hey mods, as I appreciate the time & effort you put in... but if something doesn't look right, it is your job to intervene before it escalates. I imagine there is one of you at any given time to monitor the threads. Just hope one can control a situation much sooner.
I do have to say I share your worries, but the reality is that we cannot constantly look at the threads, in part due to real life. This is why we ask you to, if possible, report any potentional issues you see. I have looked through the thread and with it now deleted it is impossible for me to hit the problematic post as the user itself cannot even see it anymore. However I will send them a message about it.
We do try, absolutely. But the reports are invaluable to us, so if something goes wrong, report it. It presents us with a quick view of what's going on where, so we don't have to read every new post 24/7.

We can. Looking back at it, the thread was definitely contentious and should have been shut down sooner, but it was low traffic so was not on the top of my posts to pay attention to. In the future, please report such posts more quickly and we'll make sure we get eyes on as soon as possible.

As you look through the deleted post, I hope I handled it appropriately, as I have been putting forth effort to not get hot-headed from others just looking to start a fight (so to speak). Trust me, it does take some restraint from insulting or cursing, as that is the go-to knee-jerk reaction. I really tried to be civil, even going as far as explaining how if the intentions were to remind me it was ALL old news, it could have been done w/ a private message, whereas in public, a different reason to speak it publicly is made known. Hope that makes sense.
Don't know if this is the right place for this but: http://www.mtgsalvation.com/spoilers/186-iconic-masters says 252 cards out of 249, but the last five cards (Glimpse the Unthinkable, Hypersonic Dragon, Malfegor, Savageborn Hydra, and Spiritmonger) are listed both in their regular section *and* at the end of the list. The ones at the end have a card number of #?/249 whereas the ones in the regular part of the list are given the proper numbers.
EDIT: Also, Golgari Rot Farm is missing from the list of lands (we have the other 9 Ravnica Karoos, so we should get the 10th as well), meaning we're only missing one land from the full list.

Yeah, due to the nature of how IMA's spoiler season went, there have been a few errors, they should all be fixed by now though.

Hey, um, I'm looking through the Dominaria spoiler page, and a lot of the cards with lengthy names extend over mana cost area, making the generic mana cost symbol unreadable. It's been a while since I looked up spoilers here so I don't know how new this formatting issue is. Is there any easy workaround? Having to dig through the page source code seems sort of bad design...

If you click the card name, it opens the page for that specific card, which has a larger card box and you can see the mana cost.
For the most part, this isn't usually a concern as we have images to go with most cards we add (and if they're in a foreign language, we can mock them up), but the Dominaria leak being entirely text has left us in a weird situation.

learnt something today which you may want to sticky in the Rumor Mill section of the forum:
- Artists don't necessarily know whether their art has been used in a new Magic set. Often, the first time they hear about their work being used on a new card is by seeing it on Twitter as part of spoiler season (and at that point, they would have created the artwork in question perhaps 2 years previously).
- it's a simple and generous act to tag artists on social media when their art gets spoiled on new cards. There are other ways they could be notified as well, although that's often the quickest and lowest-effort way.
can we have this idea be part of the spoiler season messaging on the forum? Many users here are active on social media and would gladly tag artists in a post or a retweet if they knew about this issue.
it would be great to see those artists not only be part of the conversations and excitement of a new set, but also be considered as valued enough by the players that we are 'looking out for them' in a small way. Simple gesture, could go a long way.
just my two cents on this =)

Do MTGS get some commission for putting the names of other sites in the titles of spoiler threads? Best practice is to move the name of the source into the body of the post. If not, surround the source's name in parentheses so we won't mistake it as part of a card name; and attribute them properly: "from <mysource>".

MTGS does not receive commission for properly sourcing our cards, but it has long been our practice. I will pass on the suggestion that we more clearly delineate the cardname and the source, however.

Is it possible to delineate between officially spoiled and leaked cards? The easiest way I can see is actually the reverse of the previous request here, in having threads titled "[CARD] from [SOURCE]" or something like that.
I understand that not everyone cares about leaks, I just want the information and discussion on this site to continue to be usable for those who do.
Hey friends, apologies in advance for the can of worms.
So, in July a thread in the Mill was modded because it veered into a discussion of how political correctness/representation had been influencing MtG negatively (in the opinion of some posters), a discussion loosely inspired by some aspect of a spoiled card (the art, if I'm not mistaken). I followed up with Feyd who said that those discussions tend to slip away from being focused on MtG so the staff regarded them as too hot to allow, a line of reasoning I can respect. I recommended that the staff consider devising a constructive way to facilitate a discussion because it was only going to continue coming up frequently across threads.
Given that the same conversation keeps coming up at least once in every spoiler season (twice in Eldraine already, by my count - once in the initial Oko reveal and again in the Mystical Dispute thread) and is showing no sign of going anywhere, is there a plan aside from modding threads as these disputes develop? I can't help feeling like that's just holding action because the underlying frustrations and conflict isn't going away, and the discussions are often going for hours if not a day before the staff have a chance to intervene. People have a lot of thoughts and feelings on representation in the game within the larger context of political correctness and social woes, and it's just going to keep coming up at every opportune moment. Locking threads and deleting posts (or even issuing warnings/infractions) doesn't seem to be making an impact.
I bring it up here and not on Feyd's helpdesk because it's clearly a problem centralized in the Mill (I do appreciate Feyd's input here and he ought to chime in if I'm off base bringing it up again) and has some impact on spoiler season (sapping staff time, derailing threads, making the Mill feel less welcoming when it's frequently the first subforum new people look at, etc).
That witch having deathtouch instead of lifelink makes me real sad.

#DefundThePolice
This post was marked as trolling/incitement (and I presumed infracted, but correct me if I'm wrong). I'm not presuming the content about deathtouch versus lifelink was what was considered the problem. I've seen other posters with BLM/defund the police support in their posts/sigs/etc, is that now being considered inappropriate on the forum? On its face, this feels concerning, but maybe there's some context I'm missing?
How can I sort the card spoiler? I find that sometimes when I open it, the cards are sorted alphabetically, and sometimes when I open it, that cards are sorted in order of when they were added to the spoiler. However I don’t see an option anywhere for me to change the sort method. When they are sorted alphabetically, it makes it frustrating for me to easily catch up on what has been spoiled since the last time I checked the spoiler.
