Hmmm, I'm not quite sure what to make of this. Seems very nice surged. Is Wizards actually trying to make RDW a thing in Oath? If so, I'm on board, I'll just hope for a few more good burn spells to go along with these aggressive goblins.

I guess goblin piledriver is in standard, so this maybe has a shot? Not a bad card, not super exciting though. Will probably find its home in some casual goblin decks and surge decks.
EDIT: wasnt even thinking about limited - dude should be a pretty good common. Would it be worth putting into any red deck, even the colorless/ eldrazi flavored ones??
The true mind can weather all the lies and illusions without being lost. The true heart can tough the poison of hatred without being harmed. Since beginning-less time, darkness thrives in the void but always yields to purifying light.
I invision a future where one is not mighty when he can silence a crowd with brutality,
but when he leaves them speechless with wisdom.
Well, this should be good in 2HG. The more I see of the mechanic, the more fun I think having one player heavy on Surge cards and the other player just on a low curve to reliably cast cards would be. Just aggro them to hell.

"The true measure of all heroes is not what they achieve, but who they inspire." —Triumph of Gerrard
Dear god I hate that art. What happened to goblin art like Goblin King? Heck even original zendikar had cooler looking goblins. It's like they aren't even funny anymore which is sad.
Also this is bad. 4 mana for a 3/2? Thats Terrible! This is a strictly worse Boggart Brute! I mean if they made him cost the same as brute then he'd be good.
The fact that you have to play another spell to get this guy down to two mana is bad because that means to profit you need another card in hand and more than 2 mana active. Granted bone saw is in standard. Doesn't mean you will get any for draft.
Its not strictly worse. I like the card for 2hg and probably will be trying it when I do the sealed events. My LGS will be running 4 between the prerelease and the subsequent weekends. It's a fine limited card but as you pointed out it isn't amazing
RDW will need all the help it can get with the return of Drown in Sorrow to the format.
And Kozilek's Return... And Chandra's Sweeper ability...
Hard times for Aggro ahead.
Honestly though, Aggro strategies are too fast for standard. They lead to feel bad moments when new players durdle with their new cards. It's for the best. /sarc
There's always that one guy that drafts the hyper-aggressive deck and will draft like 5 of these and 3 Bone Saws and will wreck everyone in the face.
What I'm saying is, card is good.
3 Bone Saw sounds like a recipe for disaster. I personally think Bone Saw will end up being unplayable, but I could see the argument for one or two. After that you're just upping your chances of spending entire games with no creatures.
Not that I think Goblin Freerunner is bad... it just needs a critical mass of decent creatures at 2 and 3 to support it.
This is really good for RDW or Atarka Red for the same reason that Chandra, Fire of Kaladesh is good - the sheer amount of 1- or 2-drops. On turn 3 , just cast this after a Swiftspear. Or Zurgo. Or Wild Slash. or Titan's Strength.
This will see Constructed play.

So I suppose you aren't going to join the Wayne Reynolds fanclub? http://tinyurl.com/zk8d7r8
3/2 menace for 2 is nice, but I'm still waiting on the free spells that we want to run anyway for surge ~
edit: gatherer link wouldn't read correctly so I tinyurl'd it
I like this card, I may have to make room for it in my pauper cube. A 3/2 Menace for potentially 1R? Yes please.

They were just too tiny and too fast, they ran out there and ate it like a squirrel under a tire.
Now all we have left is the Warren dullards.
I was hoping this set would give a good 1 drop goblin or two to go with Piledriver, but no such luck.
This is all very sad bc there are no goblins on Innistrad.
P.S. This joke is as bad as this whole blocks art.
