In THE ART OF MAGIC: THE GATHERING – INNISTRAD, terror falls from the skies on blood-spattered wings and nameless horrors lurk in the shadows. These pages, lavishly illustrated with the award-winning art of Magic: The Gathering, are your entry into a world beset by terrible evils on all sides and betrayed by the hope it held most dear. Tread lightly as you follow the heroic Planeswalkers of the Gatewatch as they investigate these dark mysteries.
So it looks like Gatewatch is going to stay a thing. I assume it's the 4 that we saw the art for at the OGW announcement wonder if anyone else will join.
Also 'Betrayed by hope it held most dear' definitely sounds like Avacyn has been corrupted. No hits of Eldrazi though, that's hopefully a sign.
I really hope these books become successful enough for us to get one for every new block and perhaps even some old ones for good measure. A second installment announced before the first is even released is an excellent sign. Despite not being a fan of Innistrad, I'll get this just to support the continuation of this line.

Actually, I'm going to guess we're finally seeing that "Mono-white villain" we've been promised for ages. Avaycn hasn't been corrupted; she's gone full Spanish Inquisition.

My theory is because Liliana blew up Griselbrand there's a huge void of power on the evil side and as innistrad has a theme of good vs. evil in balance, somethings gotta shift to evil.

i can't help but go full on speculation here. shadows over innistrad is obviously a reference to shadows over innsmouth, the HP lovecraft story, in which the main character is [SPOILERS] slowly corrupted by his ancestry and becomes basically a worshipper of cthulhu. emrakul is the titan of corruption, she can't affect inanimate objects but she can corrupt anybody, see eldrazi conscription. is it far fetched to believe that she could corrupt avacyn? her depiction as the false god em also shows her as an angel. they need to tie up the loose ends of the eldrazi storyline (and my eldrazi deck wants to have the 3 new titans in a timely manner) and the gatewatch needs a black planeswalker to be full on power rangers so why not liliana who frequents innistrad?
on topic: i wish this was in every fatpack, it would be way more desirable that way.
Might get a black angel this time to make up for the blatant lack last time (Sigarda, Bruna, Gisela)
That wasn't an oversight of a black angel. Angels were intentionally white with the demons being black to represent good and evil on that plane.
Regardless of their justification, a black angel was missing from the cycle of W/X legendary angels that came from the helvault (could even include Avacyn as W/W). They could have had a W/B one if they wanted to, but decided against it, thereby creating said lack.
Explore a dark world rife with deadly horrors, and join the investigation to find clues and unravel the madness plaguing the inhabitants. Follow in the footsteps of heroic Planeswalkers to discover just how deep the madness runs.

Konda was an antagonist in the books in the vaguest sense, but none of that was represented in the cards. Same goes for Heliod. Moreover, MaRo and Beyer both mention that it's something people keep asking for.

Lovecraft. Lovecraft. Lovecraft.
Also if they are using madness as a plot device and don't bring back Madness as a mechanic I will be so disappointed.

We've already had a mono-white villain: Konda, Lord of Eiganjo.

Also Heliod, God of the Sun.

Also, I hope this happens for every plane from now on. At least the returning planes. Would love to have larger versions of what is on the cards.

Pretty sure those are collars of Avacyn, just a bit distorted due to distance/angle/lighting.
