wheelofarmageddon asked: Will Oath of the Gatewatch also have full art basic lands (like Worldwake did)? And if so, will they also be in the fat packs?
Mark said: Oath of the Gatewatch will have full art basic lands. They will be the same full art lands from Battle for Zendikar (complete with expansion symbol). The Oath of the Gatewatch fat packs will also have full art basic lands. The Battle for Zendikar gift box, by the way, will not have full art basic lands (except, of course, for inside booster packs).
Wizards print good rares, players complain about cash grab. They print underwhelming rares, players complain that the cards suck. They spoil the best cards first, players complain about the insane prices of preorders. They spoil the meh cards first, players complain that this is the worst set ever.
So. I think I understand now.
As far as these forums are concerned, WotC can never do anything good because:
Card that is new and probably good = "pushed"
Card that is new and probably bad = "EDH/casual fodder"
Card that is a reprint = "lazy"
Card that is a better version of an older card = "power creep"
Card that is a weaker version of an older card = "worthless"
Well now everyone who was not able to buy a fat pack will easily be able to buy one now. They are really gouging the crap out of people for these fat packs. Zendikar fat pack $53.00 + Shipping: $10.99 lowest price on tcgplayer. While magic origins fat packs are are about $32.
don't blame the bus when the crackhead jumps out in front of it on a busy street.
I never even think of fat packs as a thing. They need to throw a little something something to it to justify its price that comes out to the same amount as 9 separate boosters.

Looking for confirmation I wont open my BFZ fatpack if the symbols are different. My LGS has told me I will get my BFZ order filled with oath as they could not fully deliver my pre order this time around.
Looks like I wasn't clear enough. What I meant about the gift boxes; someone should ask why supplementary products like this do not have the Full-Art lands. It's a special occasion, furthermore we're in freaking land-loving Zendikar. With more products like these containing full-art lands, it will probably ease off sharks wading in shallow waters because these lands will be aplenty in the market.

MaRo has been pretty open in the past about full arts being special so they don't want them to be shoved in every set and precon made. Once they do that they aren't special anymore.
Personally I don't think they need to be in the Holiday Box. The full art lands aren't exactly bank breaking at twenty cents a piece. Sucks that you can't get fat packs because of the land pack but that's wotc not thinking straight and if full art lands were put it it would be the same situation. They should've known the demand would've been higher and made much more to meet demand. Hopefully they realize and print way more Oath.

Except it's not just one bus, the drivers are all pushers, the pushers want a significant percentage higher above the norm, and they're just plain ********s. Seriously, It's getting really bad when you can't buy fat-packs just because you get a bunch of full-arts, which considering the contents of the set is largely the only way you're going to get much if any value out of it. Expeditions were just a way to ramp up sales of this stinker of a set. And unfortunately, it's kind of working.

The hilarious part is the NON Fullart lands are going to end up more rare then the Fullart lands.
As a person trying to complete the land base in my Cube with half-art BFZ lands... yup. They aren't really more expensive but they are a pain in the butt to get.

Fine, there are 10,000 buses on my metaphoric road. Still the crackhead's fault for jumping into traffic. You want to know how you keep from getting overcharged? Don't pay it. If you want it but can't afford it, you don't get to buy it. Jesus, just imagine if I were to sit here on my fat ass complaining about how Skittles are $.89 a pack now and I used to pay $.50 for them, and then I blame others for MY unwillingness to pay market value for something. MSRP is $40 for fat packs but they are worth $60. MSRP doesn't matter when it doesn't take into account actual market value. AND, if anything the MSRP lets a ton of people get a $60 product for $40 if they happen to find them at a big box store. So, thank god for MSRP because it has saved a lot of people a lot of money.
In the instrument world, it is unheard of to pay MSRP. Most things sell for 60% of what MSRP is. People simply won't pay MSRP.
The best part about instruments is that if you treat them well they usually go up in value. Not true about MTG cards.
I love the idea of full art lands and it will probably be another 5-10 years until they are reprinted. IT is interesting that everyone is chasing these lands when it is the foil full art lands that are most important. I am not surprised about the Fatpack thing happening and not surprised if there was always a limited printing of them. *old man voice* Back when the OG Zendikar came out there was not a rush to get the fat pack. A bunch of the people back then just thought that full arts would be the norm.
I enjoy the novelty, it is different and fun without changing the game or creating a worthless or overpowered mechanic.

Someone should actually ask MaRo about fatpack availability and/or lack of Full-art lands in a Holiday Box, instead of beating round the bush.
