Why would you blame WOTC for not changing their printing tactics from every previous set. They are doing exactly what they always do. You can't blame someone for doing something that they have always done unless what they have always done is a problem. Based on how Fat Packs sit on shevles for years, it clearly wasn't a problem.
And if you can't see how your actions (and others like you) are part of the problem. That is exactly my point in saying you have the mindset of a criminal when it comes to passing off blame. They can't understand why what they did caused something else. They just assume that they are the center of the their world and how it effects other people does not matter.
They pushed and advertised the fact that there would be 80 full-art lands in each pack. They were clearly aware of the additional demand it would generate for said product, yet did very little to attempt to alleviate said demand. I do understand that I, and others like me, are a part of the issue surrounding the relative lack of availability of this particular product, but I don't see why we end up shouldering most of the burden of blame when WotC could literally blow a huge hole through prices by simply reprinting the fat packs. If you're going to blame people like me, then you better damn well blame Wizards for ******* this up too.
Plain and simple, WotC loves creating hype and crazy demand around their products here and there, they thrive on it. They may have not expected such a sudden and large increase in prices and one day sellouts, but you're kidding yourself if you don't think they didn't realize these things would sell quick.
Right, I don't want to swing around a warnhammer around here, so keep it civil guys.

To anybody thinking dropping $1k on fatpacks is a lot of money, it's all relative. When you make $20k a year (been there, done that) it's a lot of money. When you make $100k+, it's not that much. That simple. I sold a pair of Innistrad boxes I bought for about $175 a box for $270 ea to pay for a part of these fatpacks anyway, so in reality, my cost basis is more like (2*$35)+(4*$37)+(13*$44.5)-((2*$270)-(2*$175)).
Wait, so you make more than $100K a year, and yet you feel compelled to take the day off from your $100K job, drive all around town, and buy out all the fat packs you can find?
What is the huge appeal of Fat Packs? I know they have the full art lands, but $50 for 9 packs is ridiculous. I can get 7 for $20, so an extra $30 for two more packs, 80 lands, a box and a little booklet. Seems like a ripoff to me.

Wow. Just wow.
I never said I make $100k+ a year, I said spending money like that is all relative. $1k isn't exactly chump change to me, but I have family who wouldn't bat an eye at spending $1k for a good dinner, let alone some Magic cards that have potential value down the road, provided they had a good understanding of the logic behind the future value of said item.
I also took off because I wanted a 5 day weekend, and have some time off to burn. I can only roll over 40 hours or I lose it, and I'm not one to give up paid time off for nothing.

Simple math.
9 boosters at, say $3.33 ea = $30.00
80 full-art lands at $0.20 ea = $16.00
$30.00+$16.00 = $46.00 with a MSRP of $40.
If you suggest the other crap is worth $2, you're getting $48.00 for $40.00.
oh well, it just suck when people like to use capitalism as an excuse to be a dick.
You make it sound like I'm buying these up just to spite people, when in reality, that's not the case.
You are doing this to squeeze money out of naive people. You don't care about the community or anybody else. I don't put all the blame on you and I think Wizards should print more fatpacks, but that doesn't make this kind of behaviour any less dickish.
Listen, I'm not trying to judge you, but I hope you don't fool yourself into thinking that you earned any of that. That you were smarter or more diligent than others. You are just more unscrupulous than most people. I just hope that when the zombie apocalypse comes, that people like you get eaten first.
The best part of this whole conversation is that Fadetoblack is spending $1k+ to sit on product for months (years, per his previous statement) in an effort to make a few hundred dollars. Most of the working world would make that few hundred dollars in the hours you spent driving around to find the packs, and all you are really doing is inconveniencing the rest of us.
If you suggest the other crap is worth $2, you're getting $48.00 for $40.00.
I suggest you just stop. People here have a sense of entitlement where something that clearly has a market price of $50-$55 should be given to them for $40 - even though they are obviously worth $55 to a lot of consumers. Nobody owes anyone anything and the MTGS way is to neglect the difference between needs and wants.
The intro packs don't have full art. There you go.
And the intro packs, per land, are a way worse deal.
The Holiday Box will also have half art lands.
As per the discussion at hand, I don't see what's keeping Wizards from having a second print run of Fat Packs. I mean they're going to print this set to demand, which means they'll already have the packs and lands being printed. Just get more boxes and accessories and there you go.
Being upset at someone buying something that's for sale is just ludicrous, btw. He didn't steal them off of FedEx trucks, he walked into stores and bought them.

If I sit on these fat packs for 3 years post-rotation, I'd expect to get around $100 ea, and with a cost basis of around $41 a pack, that's an annualized, compounded return of about 20% per year. Pretty damn good for 3-5 hours total worth of work, especially when it's work I enjoy... I love the thrill of the hunt.
I really doubt you pull down $100/hr, let alone $200/hr. $100/hr is around $200k a year.
I'm outta here, y'all have a nice evening, and best of luck finding some fat packs.
I don't know what world you live in, but I live in a capitalistic society. Entitled individual like you whiners make our whole generation (I'm a millennial) look bad.

And now we're comparing somebody who bought a life-saving drug and jacked up the price something like 3500% to a guy who bought a bunch of cardboard and is sticking them in his closet.

They were being sold for $50 at my LGS, and I assume their price is fair as they were selling MM15 packs for $10 when another shop across town was selling them for $17.

Thanks for helping with jacking up all the prices for those who want to actually open and play with these cards!
Might I suggest the stock market if you want to take advantage of people?
Yeah, you know what? I think this has gone on long enough. -locks-

No doubt. Still the cheapest pimp Cube out there. Irony is just a bit too costly for my blood sometimes.
