I'd say this is not a card for the UB Control deck. It's a card for the UB Devoid/Ingest deck, which seems to be very Tempo-based. In that kind of shell, this card seems very good. Fathom Feeder and Transgress the Mind deals with the big guys, this card deals with the small ones, and all of them feed Ulamog's Nullifier, which counters everything else. They also feed Wasteland Strangler, which kills a lot ot stuff. There's currently a lot of synergy in the UB archetype, and I'd love to see where it goes.
As for the card itself, it's good. It's not going to be a Modern all-star, but I'm pretty sure it will see Standard play, at least in sideboards. If a card is good enough to see play and you keep asking for it to be better... just don't.
What purpose? It's a bad essence scatter...which is a fairly narrow counter in the first place.

Quote from Wolfman about lack of Conspiracy spoilers-
"I'd say this about guarantees that it won't be up till this Friday, but considering the current track record, the ETA is now probably two weeks after the set has been out."

Well I can can tell most people that are saying that this card is bad can't evaluate a card unless a pro tells them.
Quick question what's the average modern creature cost outside of tron. Good side for modern decks to get rid of finks and stuff

If your answers can't be flexible in modern (Which this card is not) you're better off being linear and jamming threat after threat. This is why Abrupt Decay, Lightning Bolt, Path to Exile, Terminate, etc. are premium removal - they're versatile. This is not versatile. So please tell me why this gets played over Deprive/Logic Knot.
