This was spoiled a few days ago. It's possible the spoiler site wasn't updated though.
Also, Brutal Expulsion seems cool but really cost 1 more mana than necessary to be good. I feel like shock + unsummon (yes, even for spells on the stack) won't quite be enough for 4 mana.
Damn that card is quite brutal, with some badass WTF art.

Akoum firebird landfall trigger really needed to cost 6? I mean... REALLY?!
new Awakening Zone is pretty powerful, certainly seeing play.
mixed feelings about Brutal Expulsion.
it's the Venser, Shaper Savant ETB with a shock attached to it, and without the dude, for the same mana cost.
it's not bad, but I'm not hyped.
But that could just be because I'm contrasting it with Brutal Explulsion, yet another in the surprisingly long list of ugly, baffling BFZI cards that I hate.
Brutal Expulsion is neat, but I don't think it's Modern playable. The closest comparison is Jilt, which hasn't been playable since its time in Standard.
Some things to keep in mind:
1) This is not a two-for-one. The first mode never provides card advantage, merely tempo.
2) The second mode can't hit players, only creatures/planeswalkers
3) The first mode only hits creatures and spells, not other permanents

Finally, someone points this out. The reason why Venser is so good is because it comes attached to a dude. I mean, Brutal Expulsion will probably see some play, but it's not going to be that big of a game-changer at 4 CMC, especially when it can't even hit players. LSV is overhyping a card again, just like when he overhyped Empty the Pits.

I've waited so long to see "return target spell to its owner's hand." It's the second card to do that, since Venser, Shaper Savant, I think. They should have printed it (without Devoid) in RTR block with its uncounterable spells, but I'll take it. I think Brutal Explosion is standard playable; although it's four mana it's a big tempo play.
Brutal Expulsion is... Brutal. If it cost 3, it would have been the next Kommand in Modern, but 4 cmc might be a little much. An answer for anything is a big deal and if Grixis Control becomes the thing I am expecting, this will be a big part of it.

Brutal Expulsion seems fairly brutal. 2 for 1s are usually pretty good.

Storm Crow is strictly worse than Seacoast Drake.

Also, can't wait to play the stuffing out of that firebird.

At least From Beyond makes sense. Eldrazi tutor!

Overall, it's a flexible card, but less so than something like Cryptic Command or even Venser, Shaper Savant.

I might play Standard for the first time in years.
Pretty much, though unlike Remand (and like Venser, Shaper Savant), this can target Uncounterable stuff.
If you have the mana, you can also target your own Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger to get two casting triggers and a Pillar.
