While I know that they don't do the same thing, I am guessing that this confirms no Inquisition of Kozilek in this set (not that it was particularly likely in the first place).

Tacks on an extra 1 for Devoid (becomes a legitimate 1cc discard spell with Herald of Kozilek, although at that point the discard isn't nearly as effective) and a stronger removal effect (both in terms of exile vs discard, and arguably in terms of what cards it hits) that can also feed Processors. It does not, however, feed the Tarmogoyf. Well, not for anything besides Sorceries, anyway.

Also, another Anowon quote. Have we already gotten one from him this block, or is this the first?

This will be in standard easily. Fuels the U/B Eldrazi or R/U/B drazi deck that's gonna be made.

Turn 4 Probe your mind a couple times to get rid of Into the Roil, Languish, etc.

I like it, well the devoid cards seem to look better for some reason (must be the cool frame). its a slightly better inquisition for 1 mana (dont count devoid in cost estimations, by what Maro said Devoid is free).

does this mean dragon control is dead? Thoughtsieze rolls out and then this rolls in with an exile clause. Doesn't hit hangarback walker though. Hangarback: 1000000001 *****ty discard: 0

EDIT: read more of the posts... It's not an inquisition of kozilek people. Read the card, specifically the word right after "converted mana cost 3 or". They even format cards with greater and less than clauses differently from each other to make it easier for you people. Wizards can't read the card for you. Not unless you play mtgo anyways.

Can def see this getting some main boards if grixis or esper become a thing

It's not designed for Standard clearly. It's designed for a format loaded to the gills with Eldrazi. This will be one of those cards that's half hand control half fueling those bomb "play it from exile" abilities.

How many discard spells with 2+ converted casting cost that only hit one card have ever been played in any format? This card is on par with Addle and Distress, and while those saw a reasonable amount of play, it's not like they were great. Perhaps the exile will matter enough to make this a thing, but short of that, 2cc for discard 1 card has never been a very playable rate. If the format is slow enough, I suppose this will end up getting played though.

And it's shaping up to be pretty slow thus far.

No, the difference is that it hits 3,4,5,6,7 etc. instead of 0,1,2,3. Really more similar to Appetite for Brains, and that saw no play.

There was no reason for Appetite for Brains to see play.
