Munda, Ambush Leader 2RW
Legendary Creature - Kor Ally (Rare)
Haste Rally - Whenever Munda, Ambush Leader or another Ally enters the battlefield under your control, you may look at the top four cards of your library. If you do, reveal any number of Ally cards from among them, then put those cards on top of your library in any order and the rest on the bottom in any order.
3/4
That's still a beefy body though. Interesting ability, good for chaining strong plays together in the ally deck, should that exist. No card advantage is a bit of a bummer, but I suppose on 4 mana the draw selection makes up for that.
Yeah, not particularly impressed. The allies decks in Modern have better 4-drops (Gideon, Collected Company) and I am not confident yet about the chances of an ally deck in Standard.
It's not bad exactly, it's super ally scry, but.... Sylvan Messenger puts all the elves in your hand, has an easier mana cost, and is an uncommon. I guess the effect is harder for these colors on the color pie scale? I'm confused about this one. I'll draft around it for sure, but that's about it I think.
On second thought, it does have haste on a real body. So there's the bump. I guess it'd be ok with the Overrun Ally in Naya. Still not my cup of tea, but not terrible.

The fact it gives other allies the same ETB ability would have made it a tad broken if it also gave a card.
Imagine a lategame scenario where you cast this after a, say, Ugin -X wipeboard and you just start chaining ally after ally in a single turn. It would be akin to Cascade in the sense of making a player gain unreal card advantage/tempo out of nowhere.
Maybe if they took its haste away, then sure, but I think haste makes more sense for RW. It's nowhere near a bad card if allies.dec is indeed a thing.
Sylvan Messenger is also a 2/2 trampler for 4 mana. This guy is a 3/4 with haste. That's a considerable upgrade in terms of its body.
I am assuming that it actually drawing you an Ally was considered and discarded on the basis that if this didn't get removed it offers a near constant chain of card draw at no additional cost. That's too bad because, yes, that effect is much cooler. Nonetheless, being able to potentially filter your draws for the rest of the game seems pretty awesome.
Another thing I don't like about this card is that by relying on it you have to kind of ignore non-ally cards. Let's say I want to draw a burn spell or gideon or something. If I trigger rally and see a non-ally card I want, then I have to put him on the bottom? Seems kinda bogus.
He basically gives an effect similar to the recruiters or the ones that look at the top cards and go to hand (forget what they are called). I wonder if were going to get an efficient draw engine with all this deck setting, I am also hoping for some basic ingest cards to support the processors (who seems to always be two cards).
To be fair, if it put one of the allies in your hand, then you would basically be drawing 2 cards every turn, which seems a bit overpowered. It could have been a 4/4 though.
As a commander, this guy really needed those cards to go to the hand to set him apart from the rest. Getting a card advantage engine available in the two colors that are the worst at card advantage would have been such a good thing to have. Even just having one of those allies going to your hand would have increased his potential as a commander exponentially. I was looking to build a new RW deck too, darn.
I like this card. Definitely not broken but he is basically Sylvan Library on a stick. A stick that is not green and collides with Company but a stick regardless. Definitely a lot stronger then he looks.
(ok not library but a similar effect, maybe mirris guile)
I mean, if you really look at him he essentially has Scry 4 and gives all your other Alys Scry 4. If you need guys you just keep them on top, with the best next. If you need and answer then I guess you ship 4. Also seems like there may be a chnce he can combo with Sylvan Messenger. Plus a 3/4 hasty body is nothing to scoff at.

Unfortunately not actually as good as Goblin Ringleader.

as a rare I expect a little bit more. This barely passes rare complexity
Storm Crow is strictly worse than Seacoast Drake.

And for such garbage, too.

Edit: I guess you can chain a bunch the following turn if he gave you a card. Must've proven too powerful in NWO.
Thank you!
