maybe Ob will have a legendary card again, and then Nissa is still possible. But I frankly doubt it, especially with Ob revealed as one of the walkers in the Arena of the Planeswalkers boardgame expansion.

I was quick to change my stance on the other thread, I don't think I was "wrong" then, since I was basing my point of view based on "evidence" in the form of art. Now that Kiora has been "officially art-previewed" as well, being on the packaging provides a strong enough case to change my stance. Had the art been available earlier, it would have been a harder comparison.
I'm quite confident now that Nissa is in Oath, with a backup reason of Ashaya's current status.
1. Of course Kiora would be in this set (if not the block). I think it's silly so many people thought otherwise, based on... I have no idea. Like Nissa and Kiora couldn't be in the same set? That said, after seeing the "Oath of the Gatewatch" promo art, I think it's pretty clear that Nissa will be in that set. Perhaps she becomes the key piece of the oath/gatewatch and stays behind to guard Zendikar, like Nahiri first did.
2. wow, drowner of hope is boring. THIS is what we're getting for our rare eldrazi? I'm not saying it's a BAD card, it's just... pretty unexciting, not a particularly interesting use of the eldrazi scion "mechanic", and doesn't even bother with ingest/exile which is one interesting design space the eldrazi use. Aside from ulamog himself, these rare eldrazi seem eminently beatable. The uncommon 10/8 with lure is scarier.
3. In fact, all the intro pack cover rares kinda suck. Oh well, still excited about the set despite that!
Huh, Kiora's already back. I wonder if she'll be UG or straight U this time. Also, seriously? Blue's getting more army-in-a-can token production? Color pie, people.
Edit - Just a little speculation, Kiora's got the Dekella (the bident) now. I'd be willing to bet that's translated into her using mind control effects. It's not too far fetched considering how she likes to round up city-sized krakens and turned a number of Tritons against their patron God, even if not having meant to. It makes sense lore-wise, and, excluding Nicol Bolas, I can't recall any blue 'walker with a mind control effect.
I don't doubt we'll see Kiora, but Maro has said that just because walkers appear in art and story does not mean they will get new cards in the block. They are changing the way stories are told and with 2 sets per block they won't always have space to get cards for all of them.

Since we're definitely getting Jace and Nissa, GU is a very safe bet. They've never doubled up on mono-walkers before.
They *could* add a third color, but that seems unlikely.

I don't think Chandra, nissa, sorin, or jace will get another planeswalker card this block. I'm pretty sure it was stated that they aren't necessarily going to actually give all the walkers in a block a card every time now if they have a recent one that fits them for the block. Idk if ugin will even get another card ever, though, considering bolas hasn't in all this time.

Hindsight is always 20/20, eh?
1] We know now there are three walkers in BFZ, from the leaflet.
2] We got this image along with Gideon's, Ob's and many "battle scenes" as the first taste of BFZ art in July.
Go figure.

They just printed a Nissa that summons Ashaya, it would honestly feel a little weird to immediately follow up with another version of Nissa who also summons Ashaya. Maybe that's just me.
YESSSS, KIORA, right?
Question to long-time players: Has it ever happened that a character shown on a booster-pack has not been an actual card from the set? No, right?
Huh
Ob Nixilis AND Kiora? Does that mean Nissa is left out for BFZ? Interesting.
Also, a new card - Drowner of Hope.

She is.... ummmm... just in your immagination... yea thats it.
I hope she gets a better card than her first rendition. I enjoyed the flavor she had but she needed a little something she just lacked last time.

I hope she costs at least 5-
GU is frequently about expensive stuff.
It would be cool to get a Kiora which reflects that

I would have loved to see another Sorin, Ugin, or Nahiri since we're on Zendikar, but it looks like they're saving them for later.

And as for your second point- Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker.
They could always give her a version which lasts as long as she does a la Dragonlord Silumgar.

I remembered Bolas right after I made the edit. But yeah, I could see a more restricted mind control effect going on her.
