Ive been thinking and I can see U/W tron dropping one seachrome for one of the U/W lands. Modern goblins may run 1 and 4 shocks for path to exile and lightning helix. I don't know though. Also modern goblins needs to actually apear in its new form with pile driver added into the mix
Modern Goblins is Red with splash and these slowduals miss the half cycle needed to cast Path to Exile in a red deck
Esper dragons is 100% going to be tier 1, just based off the mana. The khans block cards are strong enough to want to run this combo, and getting the mana to really want it? Hell yes.
Losing Theros takes away a lot of the incentive to be black. I'm hoping enough cards emerge for a good UW list to emerge, but if Esper remains a thing, I'd expect black to become the splash color.

And it is good, as you would run an 8/8 split of UW and UB fetches+slowduals, making blue the primary color. Should one choose to run primarily black the obvious path is Grixis for the same reason
I'm also in favor of tangolands. Magic needs more "fun" in it's nicknames.
As for the lands themselves, even though I don't play competitively I knew right away they're a step below the shocks, but I'll still be glad to pull some for my kitchen table decks. Turn 3 and on coming into play ready to go? Yes, please!

It's interestingly situational. Shocks are the pick early on, but mid game these are always better if the basic land condition sticks. I'm loving 'em!
It is too soon to call them strong, it is too soon to call them weak, what it is not too soon to call them is BORING. I had hoped the 'exciting new duals' would be exciting and new, not another round of 'well, it's ALMOST a dual'. look at the scry lands, are they good? no, not really. but they do something new, something that is not just mixing and matching bits of old designs, they are NEW. or a manland cycle, not an entirely new design, but they do something other than producing mana, is that so much to ask? even 'Land-no basic types, jump through hoop to mill stuff or something' justsomething to break the monotony of 'it makes mana. and?.....and...it makes one mana of one color per turn'
scrylands aren't new design, they're multicolored New Benalia.
My bad, forgot about that one ok, so ALMOST new, whereas checklands have been around and commonly played. that takes some of the fun out of scrylands why can't they think outside the box?

Project Booster Fun makes it less fun to open a booster.
So does running Animist's Awakening allow you to run the new duals without basics? Assuming you have spell mastery, wouldn't this put them into play untapped?

Well technically it puts those lands onto the battlefield, then untaps them if mastery is on. But yes it negates the drawback.
Though a Amulet of Vigor reprint would be nice and welcome.

In the context of the card, I assume the tangoing = "<BfZ dual> coming into play untapped"? If so, then I really do like the nickname, very clever.
