The land type bar is necessary because 15 of them have land types. It's not the most elegant of frames but it's pretty cool. Not as cool as a red Devoid frame but it's alright.
I don't like these new lands. They're significantly worse than a shock early game, and not really much better late game, where any land is a dead draw. It's hard to envision a Modern deck that wants fetchable duals but plays a lot of basics and doesn't want to take any shock damage. They're strictly worse than shocks in G/R Tron and most Modern decks only run 2-3 basics.
Maybe play the R/G one in place of Stomping Ground in Temur Twin?

These days, some wizards are finding they have a little too much deck left at the end of their $$$.

Looks like I got back into Magic at the right time. Thankfully I earn enough money to afford to purchase a case; however, justification is another thing.. =) These new lag lands are hella hype, though they feel under powered when compared to a conventional shock in regards to tempo. In general, they feel only relevant at turn three or later - not the best thing for coming out of the gate strong, but still interesting enough to want a playset of each.
The new lands are significantly worse than shocks in modern, but I can see them being useful in certain decks, and possibly replacement dual lands in some legacy decks.
I'm not going to sweat the premium lands since I already own a foil Guildpact Steam Vents and guru Mountain (I had a full set; I sold the rest for college) to show off, but I certainly wouldn't mind to pull one. I may just buy a box, depending on the set and buy-a-box promo.
Can't see much of a place for them in modern. At best they will show up about as often as filterlands. Not a bad land for EDH, but then there are already a glut of lands in that format.

have you got any idea "strictly worse" mean?
eob tapped unless you pay 3 life <---- strictly worse
eob tapped unless you contro 2 basic <------ just =/=
IMO in mid late game are way ahead than a shockland
He said "strictly worse than shocks in G/R Tron". And that is true for those G/R Tron builds that run a single basic land and will never meet the ETB untapped condition for these new duals. A shockland is always going to be better in those decks.
People misuse the term "strictly better" quite a bit, but this was not one of those cases.
I like double-check lands as a name, but please finish this cycle, Wizards. I don't like cycles going unfinished, so if not in Battle for Zendikar, put the rest in the second set of this block.
I hope this doesn't diminish the possibility of an actual Zen fetch reprinting.
Well, it probably means not until 2 sets later so they can redo them in the small set, too. Obviously the people that said wizards would never let people fetch duals in standard were wrong though. Of course they are relatively weak compared to shocks. They'll still be neat for budget commander though. I doubt Battle duals and Mirage fetches would cause a precon buyout. Of course they need to complete the two cycles and then they can reprint them every year for the precons just like karoos, command tower, evolving wilds and terramorphic. Then a 5 color deck might even work for a commander precon. I'm sure city of brass and mana confluence are cheap enough too.

Glad to see they're real.
A 6th month utility would be a total waste.

8 of each.
EDH-worthy, indeed, but not super exciting. In any Modern deck I'd want them in they'd come in tapped, sadly.

But they're also "true duals/fetchable duals" like the ABU Originals and the Shocklands.
So... they're Dual-Checks.

If only the RG one was named [whatever] Weald. Then they could be dual wealds.
