Hits the stuff that Valorous Stance doesn't, should white need an effect of this sort. This limited format seems like it will have a high overall power level so far.
The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.
Quote from Wolfman about lack of Conspiracy spoilers-
"I'd say this about guarantees that it won't be up till this Friday, but considering the current track record, the ETA is now probably two weeks after the set has been out."

Let's not go too crazy singing its praises in Limited, but it's well above average for common removal.
Notably, it's unusually efficient at killing small-medium creatures but won't kill most big 6+ mana creatures. This is often a characteristic of removal for formats meant to be slower and feature giant, expensive creatures (*cough*Eldrazi*cough*), since this kind of removal beats up on aggro decks without punishing big finishers. This being common is probably a hint to the plans for the draft format.
Yeah, if anything, it's probably a trap. Blasting a creature for two mana is awesome, but it's not really enough if BFZ is anything like ROE.

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!
the fact it's common says a lot...
I'll bet it doesn't remove most rares in the set.
in a regular set, a card like this would be easily first pickable even at common, it's hard to think they'd print it in a regular set.
this time there are Eldrazi and a ton of them.
dudes will be large and will be able to take this punch, if that wasn't the case, this card would most likely be uncommon.
the comparison to Sandblast is the closest but 1W vs 2W is a huge difference in mana to keep open for a removal spell.

How good this is will depend on how big the creatures are on average
Righteous Blow. Sort of Marrow Shards.

(filter->rarity to see in set rarity).
The Cameraman was likely distracted by the Eldrazi attacking him, it looks like Gideon is aiming for something behind the camera.

"With great fervor, Gideon whipped his sural back and forth."
So 4 whip tails = 4 damage
Can we add, I don't know... Another 5 tails to it for 9 damage?
