Some pretty cool stuff. White looks very strong. Some decent removal in other colours as well. The one thing that irks me is that a lot of the Igor Kieryluk art looks so strange. As if the foreground and the background don't mix at all. Still, the set looks sweet. I predict that everyone will try to draft UR artifacts all the time.
There seems to be more cards focused on Nissa than any other planeswalker. Just about every green card had Nissa doing something. I guess since we are going to Zendikar that is why se is getting more coverage.
Also wow... that artifact theme! There is a red creature that gives your artifact creatures haste! And a 3 mana essentially 4/3 if you control another artifact.
Also we got a Witch bane Orb wannabe in the set too. Except it had a prevent 1 damage from each creature clause.
I kinda wanna play psychic rebuttal against Thought seize heavy decks... how about you discard instead you discard happy bastard!
Jace has like... no help to get him to flip. Chandra has her burn spells of different kinds, Liliana had Flesh bag Marauder, Nissa has land lamp, Gideon has his weenies and the rare token generator. Jace had nothing... except maybe Days Undoing... at mythic.
Days undoing gets rid of the GY, helps him to not flip

Day's does exactly the opposite of what he wants: It shuffles your graveyard back into your deck.

Screeching Skaab Also technically any non permanent spell you cast helps Jace to flip
Molten Vortex and Sword of the animist. That's just nasty
How so? You don't get to discard the lands that you grab from your deck, they go straight to the battlefield. Now, Aggressive Mining on the other hand, just got a card that will probably allow for a silly FNM deck for the next few months.
I am usually super duper disappointed by the final spoiler, but the opposite is true this time around. So many valid commons and uncommons for limited make me smile. There were very few cards that I thought were truly terrible for limited. Usual Jank rare/mythic count though.

My favorite flavor text: Time of Heroes
Feel free to tell me yours!

Don't forget that you'll lose 4 life.
How do I lose 4 life? Won't the opponent and I lose two life each?
Just you, the opponent doesn't lose life unless the spell resolves. Still, a great way to use the counter. My first thought was to sideboard it in against burn decks; I for one can't wait to cast it against a Lightning Helix and really throw off their math
Throwing Knife is a flavor win, but would be even more so if it had a 3rd ability that said "If target creature dealt damage by ~~ dies this turn, return ~~ to it's owner's hand"

Anyways, Swift Retribution looks nice for a UW Control deck. Less color-intensive than Celestial Flare. Calculated Dismissal is also DEFINITELY going to get played.
Mage-Ring Network is a good addition to the various storage lands. Delivers 1 more mana on release than the time spiral cycle, but colorless instead of dual. Not bad at all
Actually, they are same. You pay 1 mana to use the stored colored mana at Time Spiral lands (Calciform Pools, etc) and you can still tap the same land for a colorless mana. Mage-Ring Network tap itself there to use the stored mana.
Ah I missed that tap clause on it, you're right
Okay maybe this isn't as great as I was thinking

In a vacuum, it's pretty bad, IMO.
But then, the Time Spiral storage lands didn't co-exist in a Standard with battlecruiser Magic, while Mage-Ring Network presumably will. So it might end up being the more playable card in its respective Standard meta.
There is no Raven Man. They had art for the Raven Man in Uncharted Realms. Where is Raven Man!?
I noticed that as well, perhaps he has a card in the next Commander product.
It looks like they made a few arts only for the story articles, such as Chandra in the carriage with her parents, Jace getting bullied, or Heliod handing the spear to Gideon.
So many interesting uncommons they had left! I love almost all of them! And Thunderclap Wyvern! Yay! I love playing UW flyers and that card is just perfect! Orbs of Warding is cool. Giving you hexproof and some damage reduction isn't bad for 5 mana. Gather the pack is cool. Thropter Engineer is awesome. Shadows of the Past is interesting. Just....so many cool cards!

I don't always post about Rafiq of the Many, but when I do, I cardlink to the original artwork, and not the supplementary product version.
"I trust myself to do my duty, even unto death. It's what comes after that I'm afraid of."
"Just fight without fear. Your soul is protected by the hand of Avacyn and will never submit to evil."

I misread it. I thought it redirected AND copied it.

Hopefully BFZ brings us a Tec Edge/Ghost Quarter type of card (to battle Haven). Was really hoping for one to show up here.
UR Blue-Red Control
Modern:
UBR Grixis Control
UWR Jeskai Control
Naw, Jace has Dreadwaters!

...but they couldn't even give me Plated Seastrider, huh? I'll live with harbinger and that UU 2/1 vanilla creature I guess.

"Useless and everyone pretends to like her?"

That's true. I mean, it's not the worst thing ever, just isn't quite what you were expecting
