Technically speaking, no preview card is. Because rumors, by definition, have uncertainty or doubt to them, which previews do not.
And yet, here we are, with a subforum dedicated largely to previews of definitive origin and status.
Whoa, you just turned my world upside down.
Seriously, though, that's very true. Never really thought about it until now.

Meanwhile we have New Card Discussion relegated to a sub forum that most people don't go to. Me thinks these treads are ill positioned. The rumor mill should be a subforum of a new card discussion forum, not the other way around.

Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.

Luckily for us, we were born with brains, and understand how to use context to thwart technicalities. Shall we digress to a conversation about the technical definition of 'strictly better' while we're at it, or accept that the point is moot and move beyond the pedantry?

Also: still not a rumor.
We could use those brains, but someone decided to comment "Not a Rumor" on a thread over two months old, that was, at its point of conception, considered Rumor Mill material.
Still having a hard time with this context thing, I see.
All I was getting at is that you could have offered more to your response of "Not a Rumor." Obviously people reviving this thread in relation to the crap BFZ card analysis isn't a rumor, but you can put actual words to that, or better yet, not let it affect you because it's not actually doing anything.
One of numerous good cards that slipped past my grasp and is incredibly powerful.
Oh well. I don't need them for any deck I plan on playing. Can't get to card shops enough to warrant trading. And thus.....
F*%# MTG: the Stockmarket. I like cards that are good, that I enjoy, that I PLAY WITH. I don't play Standard or Modern so I wouldn't (likely) play this. So fine.
Good stuff to people who found this out and bought them; I was too naive and skeptical to do so.
This was also helped by the fact that Banishing Light severely fell out of favor when Abzan started cramming Dromoka's Command anywhere it could. If Banishing Light still saw widespread play, Hangarback wouldn't be nearly as pervasive as it currently is.
Interesting at least, for 2 mana, you get a 1/1, then another 1/1 (with flying this time) when it dies, not bad, if it survives, you can upgrade it each turn, and if it dies, you get an extra 1/1 flyer for each upgrade.
Definitely not constructed playable, but it's an interesting design, and it's very good in limited. Also in a artifact themed commander, it can be very powerful.
It's too behind the curve. Obviously broken at X but it's bad at XX. Perhaps just tap to put the counter on but 1 mana makes it prohibitive as it's going to put you off your curve.
Limited bomb.
Pretty much. One of the big killers for X spells in Constructed is their inefficiency. Fireball is outstanding in Limited because efficiency is less important there, but Constructed it's bad because it's bad value for any given value of X. This is kind of the same thing, except it's XX so it's even worse.
What kind of point are you trying to make? Courser of Kruphix was $20 at one point. It's still heavily played in standard and broke into the odd modern deck. And it's a $4.50 card.
So yup, the flavor of the day gets this, and limited opening of the set compared to the large fall set means this card might stay in a higher value bracket, but even when Chandra was first printed, got modern play and spiked in hype it was a $20 card.
If you want to play with the card pay the price. Otherwise wait, cause the card isn't likely worth $20-$25 during it's entire standard life.
lol at so completely and udderly missing his extremely obvious point
it's one of those cards where a single X would be way too good, and double X makes it trash. There's just no middle ground here.
Lol i love these kind of comments in retrospect. "trash" they said. And now it's in modern.
It's the synergies that make it so good, not that the card by itself is particularly impressive. But yeah, turns out I was wrong in terms of it's playability, it can happen and I have no problem to admit it.
I'm SO SICK of the "too strong for Standard" argument. It's the new "Dies to removal". We can have a two mana 4/4 with a zillion abilities, but we can't just have Accumulated Knowledge. Makes sense.
That't not even true though, it's off-the-wall nuts with synergies but even without them, tossing 4 Hangarback Walkers into any standard deck that plays creatures is not a bad idea. It's just that strong of a card.
Whoa, you just turned my world upside down.

It did a few things in Abzan aggro.
Allows you to use excess mana to pump up.
Helps you not get as blown out by Languish.
Lets you block creatures with protection spells from Heroic decks such as Gods Willing.
Then you get some bonus synergy with Anafenza, the Foremost, Dromoka's Command and Abzan Charm.
