pretty sure they'll be saving fetches for BFZ, man. It seems much more likely that we'll need something that can deal with this baller flying vigilant bird... DAMNATION CONFIRMED!!!!
Finally after years of complaining, it has finally paid off and we have Flying return in a magic set.
Now we just need to convince WotC to bring back goblins and blue cards.
Also, you forgot that Eagle of the Watch also confirms reach to "return" in magic origins. Not that there was ever any doubt, but you should include it for completion's sake.
While I fully expect Reach to be in the set, I don't think this is proof or even compelling evidence that Reach is included. It's just the rules for flying.
As an example of a set having reminder text that referenced mechanics not in the set, Dragon's Maze contained cards with hybrid mana in their reminder text (extort cards) but IIRC had no hybrid cards in the set.
I am actually horrified a the number of people in this thread that can't recognize a comedic post. Guys, all these "confirmed" posts are POKING FUN at the people that claim something is confirmed when it isn't. Bread, you have like over 6,000 posts... how do you not recognize the reference? Sirgog, you have over 3,000 posts and you actually think someone is seriously claiming that reach is confirmed in Origins. These are JOKES, you know, HUMOR. Jesus, this world is doomed.
At the same time, remember that not everyone's first language is English, which means several may miss an implicit jocular or sarcastic tone by default.
Back on topic, so this will be standard playable for a little while longer if anyone feels the need to use one. The only downside is if people want decent air superiority at the 3 slot in draft, this won't appear.
this is great news. it allayed my fears of flying going the way of the dodo (dodo are flightless birds that went extinct). it's great that WotC listened to the fans of flying and kept it in the last core set. (let's hope it's not the final set we see flying.)

At the end of Maro's column this week, he strongly hinted that there are changes to evergreen mechanics in Origins. Though flying and vigilance really weren't at risk of being removed. I'd say landwalk is definitely going away. Others that we might lose are intimidate, protection, and regeneration.
I know that, and I'm actually interested to see if regeneration, landwalk and/or protection got the shaft. But flying is the very very last keyword they'd ever cut from the game.
Ummmm confirming that flying is "back" isn't really much news. I can't remember the last set that lacked a creature with flying unless I'm forgetting something.
I'm guessing Portal Three Kingdoms was the first, last, and only set without flying.
It's telling that the only set that didn't have flying at all had basically the same mechanic under a different name.

It pretty much is proof, because reminder text for flying only ever shows up in coresets. They would not put redundant information in there, because that would be confusing.
Also, I fail to see what extort has to do with this. Extort didn't reference anything. It used hybrid mana.
Anyway, this is all a very silly discussion anyway. The OP made a joke and I elaborated on it. And then someone tried to turn this into a serious debate. Kind of bizarre if you think about it.
Hopefully this card means that Stormfront Pegasus -isn't- in Magic Origins at common rarity. I got a little tired of Peggy. A little too straightforward to draft, in my opinion, "a 2/1 flier for 2? Yeah, I want that. No, having three doesn't keep me from taking a fourth".
It could maybe indicate a bird legend for the intro pack, but I doubt that.

But here is some good news, this comfirms that you will not end up paying $10 to see this in your pack.
I think this guy might be better than Storm Crow.

Why not both? UW Bird Heroic is the deck to beat in Tiny Win-I mean Leaders.

This guy can't be pitched to Force of Will

You win the thread.
On another note, I am glad that this isn't actually gonna be in the set. MOAR MODERN PLAYABLES NEEDED.
Storm Crow is strictly worse than Seacoast Drake.

Was it used for a monocolored deck?
These cards are still standard legal; they're just limited to the intro packs and deck builder's toolkit.
