I believe we still may see a 1R that is on level with the likes of SFM, Goyf, Bob and Tiago.
Young Pyro is just an interim prince.
I don't claim to know anything about formats other than Modern, but I've been told by my friends who play Vintage that he is widely considered one of the best creatures in the format. I think Pyromancer's problem is perception. He's an uncommon, to begin with, while all the others are rare. And his effect is slightly more niche than the others, particularly in Modern. Right now he's really only suited to Delver decks, while the others slot into more strategies. And SFM is banned in Modern/was banned in Standard/is a lynchpin of Legacy, which adds to its mystique.

Perhaps it has to do with the perception that young pyro is an uncommon. As AvatarofBro said, maybe it's the lack of mystique or allure. It just doesn't feel as it belongs in the "pantheon".
Besides, wouldn't people be happy to see another 1R drop that is awesome?
Yea agree with Empathogen. We need to see less FoW and Phyrexian Norn and more of these instead.

I think Young Pyro may have been usurped by Monastery Mentor... The latter is much much better in Vintage.

Bob and goyf have been updated to mythic though.
To make sure too many of them weren't reprinted, and collectors didn't get upset. Goyf is simply a very efficient vanilla beater and Dark Tutelage and Pain Seer show Bob's effect is still rare, rather than mythic. Regardless, my point was that Pyromancer seems more banal because he's the only uncommon in the cycle, while the others are rare (or mythic rare if you must).
EDIT: It should also be noted that, according to MTGGoldfish, Pyromancer sees significantly more play than the other four in both Legacy and Vintage, and significantly less in Modern, which could feed its perception issues. But regardless, I think this conversation has gone too far off topic.
If those are also included, this will be a good year for hard working judges.
Also the new Wasteland on sale on MCM is very clearly marked as a presale by the seller. He doesn't have it yet and might not get it for eight months or so. My guess is that the second Judge wasteland will hit 50 e on bottom. The previous one was 60 e and will also drop from current 129 e price to maybe 75 e. And all my values are MCM prices and in euros, but Curse doesn't allow non-latin characters for now. Usually TCG is bit higher.
Ravages is a much needed foil for cube. Wasteland is meh, wish they'd go with something that hasn't been done before. Still waiting on old border versions of the last two swords, as well.
Dualcaster is one of the worst cards to ever get a foil printing, disappointed about that.
And on a somewhat related note, I passed a foil pyromancer in my first "mWhatever" draft.

I honestly hope you're right, as I could use a cheap set of modern border Wastelands, but I don't think they'll drop that much due to the changes in the way judge promos are given out now (exemplar program). I really wish judge promos were at the same price or at most double the regular price of the original card. It's ridiculous that foil Force of Wills sell out at $600 each and Phyrexian Elesh Norns at $400 each. I think the time for cheap judge promos is over, since they're not being given out as liberally as compared to several years ago.
Any idea on how soon these will start showing up on the secondary market?
The first judge conferences of 2015 are on Saturday. As soon as I get my packet, I'll let people know what's in them. Probably not until Saturday evening will we get the cards and they are going to be given out in proportion to the number of talks you attend. Also, exemplar foils have not (apparently) been sent yet because although judges have been recognized, they've not been sent them yet. Of course, those are rumored to be tiered based on the recognition.

Sooo... what was in the packet? I take it you went to the one in PA? I was scheduled for the one in KY and didn't make it - was curious to hear what they ended up getting. (Especially since they were expecting a two day and 11 hour commitment.)
We still haven't heard any solid info on when these will be distributed yet right? Wizards hasn't really ben too forthcoming with how the new exemplar program will work.
I bought my foil Ravages of War today on Ebay. Be ready to pay a LOT of your hard earned dollars for the new promos, my friends.
The new Judge Exemplar program is reducing judge promos availability, as you may know...
The Louisville packet included: Entomb, Nekusar, the Mindrazer, Oloro, Ageless Ascetic, Riku of Two Reflections, Sword of Feast and Famine, and Hanna Ship's Navigator

Well, it's still early in the season. Judge promos are always stupidly expensive if you buy them early.
It's still hard to say exactly how the Exemplar program is going to work in terms of distribution.

I still need to pick up some of last year's Promos (which were even better, IMO).
Thankfully, there is no Force of Will/Elesh Norn this round (yet...)
