Man, I'm really disappointed with the quality of the foils in this product. They have that awful dark, leaden look of the past couple years' crop of precon foils. The alt arts on reaper, downfall, whip, fiend, and courser are almost completely wasted on these. It is extra disappointing, the reduction in quality considering the last clash pack's foils were quite clear and easy to discern.

All the precons are printed in a separate factory compared to the cards you find in booster packs. I can't prove this, only for the fact that I got error in packaging with the precons lately compared to the past 10 years or so, but I think this "precon printing factory" is prone to a lot more errors than the conventional "booster card factory". I bought tons of intro packs, and I notice a change in the card quality between Avacyn Restored and M13 intro packs. I also buy pretty much the same amount of precons per year, and I notice that I never got a single packaging error with the theme decks and intro packs for 8 years, and I only got these errors for 5 separate precon products more recently, and I suspect it is the printing factory that they used for precons is prone to more errors.
I also heard that people say that supplemental products are prone to more errors than intro packs before the whole intro pack card stock change, and I notice that supplemental products use card stock that intro packs, M13 and beyond use. This still doesn't prove that the "precon card printing factory" is more prone to errors compared to the "booster card printing factory".
Picked mine up earlier. Downfall went into Lazav, the other rares are going into the binder (probably going to sell the courser and whip or trade them while they're still played), gave the commons (save for Treasure Cruise away) and gonna..put the uncommons somewhere.
Pretty decent value overall. Still weird how Theros heavy this thing was.
Still wish that the art on Hero's Downfall was the art of Elspeth biting it, but ah well.
Huh. The promo Courser going for less than the original?
The promo courser is easily available in a box that can be had for $25. Yes, these versions are the "cheap" versions, just like duel deck foils are often less than their pack counterparts.

The art really is soooo much better than the original. Still feels a wasted opportunity though, would have been significantly better to have used the art of Heliod stabbing Elspeth with Godsend.
Whoever designs Duel Decks should be forced to study these decklists intensely.
I imagine there is a concerted effort among the designers to make these decks significantly better/more constructed minded than the Duel Decks. These are meant to be an introduction to Standard, while the DDs are for casual play and ostensibly nothing more (save for occasionally reprinting an in-demand card for Modern). But I do wish that the policy would change, and that DDs would match or exceed this power level.

I think they want Courser to make them some money. Business.
How much do clash packs cost and when do they get released?
I believe they sell for 30 with tax. But LGS sell for cheaper. Like one of mine sell them for 20 with no tax. BOOM!
I don't think that's the biggest Downfall in this clashpack...

I will be able to get to a scanner this evening, but if someone has copies and a camera phone, that'd probably be a lot faster...
