I opened 3 boxes of MM1. These are the mythics that I got from all 3:
2x Dark Confidant
2x Sword of Light and Shadow
1x Kiki-Jiki
1x Sarkhan Vol
1x Progenitus
2x Keiga (1x FOIL)
2x Yosei
1x Ryusei
So in total, 12 Mythics in 3 boxes, although 5 of those were Dragons. I did eventually get really good value from that Foil Keiga to a commander player though
I opened four boxes, plus 10-15 loose packs from prizes/drafts. Here was my total mythic pull:
2x Kokusho
2x Progenitus
2x Vendilion Clique
2x Yosei
1x Elspeth
1x Dark Confidant
1x Kiki-Jiki
1x Sword of Fire and Ice
1x Keiga
1x [Other] Dragon... there was one I didn't get, but can't remember whether it was green or red
And also 1x Dark Confidant foil... actually pulled in the same pack as a Clique. That was a fun pack
I specifically remember opening one Progenitus from a prize pack, so I also basically saw an average of 3x mythics per box.
Yuck at Prime Time being the second green mythic. I really hope they don't reprint the other four as a cycle considering they were all just reprinted in Commander 2014 (and a million other times).

Oh no... I bought 3 boxes also.... I can totally see myself opening them and not getting Tarmo OR a dark confidant... I probably shouldnt have bought the boxes and just waited for the price drops to happen... I bought my boxes at 200 each no tax though so now Im seriously debating on not opening them and just reselling.
I think if you are worried about value you should get it as long as you can stay around MSRP. There are going to be rares worth a lot. Also there are going to be commons and uncommons that will probably worth a pack by themselves. Then the chance of getting any of these in foil with a foil in every pack. I would not count on the foils bringing you value, but I would count on commons and uncommons.
I picked up 2 @ MSRP. But tax at that level is a killer >,<

Its all about getting them at no tax
Your not supporting your LGS then my friend...
How? My LGS CHOOSES to sell them, at 200 no tax. Pre-sale of course.
They probably ARE charging tax, it's just built into the price so their customers pay a nice, round number. There is an LGS here that does that as well.
I can't believe anyone could show that much enthusiasm for that card with a straight face, even over the internet
That article was obviously written by Brad Nelson. I remember him saying in the Dragons of Tarkir set review that he'd love to get the worst rare of an upcoming set and write an awesome preview-article about it. Job's done, if you ask me.
I'm SO SICK of the "too strong for Standard" argument. It's the new "Dies to removal". We can have a two mana 4/4 with a zillion abilities, but we can't just have Accumulated Knowledge. Makes sense.

Technically we could still get Steamflogger Boss in this set and have it as the worst rare in the set. So don't hold your breath quite yet. Of course Wizards could always bump Steamflogger Boss to mythic rare and sing trololololo.

RIP Batman guy. I hope somebody picks up the slack now that you are gone. Sick children need their Batman.
I can honestly say I don't care about the draft archetypes. This product is clocking in way too high priced to actually play more than 1 limited event regardless of whether its incredible or terrible :/
We can't really be surprised anymore. They learned last time that Modern Masters is essentially printing money. I specifically budgeted for a few drafts because the last one was one of the best limited formats ever. I'm not thrilled about it, obviously, but I'm fine with the occasional high-end product. With Modern Masters, specifically, it keeps new/inexperienced players out of drafts.
Personally, even potentially keeping out the newer/ casual players, the draft format won't be great, since the incentive to value draft is too high. Unless people actually agree to rare- redraft (which rarely happens with stuff like this as people would be all to aware of being sharked outplayed by the best players), the format will be pick the valuable cards at the expense of signalling, then start to draft properly after pick 1-2. Will be interested to cube/ play it on MTGO though.
Even if Infect wouldn't be a theme, that wouldn't stop WotC from printing certain Infect cards. I expect Inkmoth Nexus to make an appearance. Ditto Phyrexian Crusader (partly coz of its Mirran counterpart being spoiled).
IT seems like a joke to me also. Im not familiar with that website though.
The article is obviously tongue-in-cheek but it has a preview card, along wth a deck full of "Magma(w)" cards.
Magmaw should be pretty nice in limited, at least.
The "Crazy One", playing casual magic and occasionally dipping his toes into regular play since 1994.
Currently focusing on Pre-Modern (Mono-Black Discard Control) and Modern (Azorious Control, Temur Rhinos).
Find me at the Wizard's Tower in Ottawa every second Saturday afternoons.

Primetime is $15. It's worth the cost of the pack on it's own. Getting the other titans is still much better than the kamigawa dragons, all of them are fringe playable to some extent.

If you buy the box, you make the rules, it's that easy. I bought a box MM in 2013, and asked my friends to make a draft. But ONLY with rare-pick at the end. I only do these types of drafts, exactly because of the reason that I don't want to money pick.
And guess what ? I was able to open a Dark Confidant and PASS IT (because he's terrible in limited.)

But at least the Draft was the best !
If you buy the box then you keep the cards. They get the fun of playing the set for free. If they chipped in for the box then you shouldn't be making the rules.

I've bought 3 boxes of MM2015, and I'm phantom drafting them all with my friends. Half of them don't have their own collection and only cube anyway.

And that is fine when everyone is in agreement. Personally the only way to get more than a taste and figure out this format is going to be drafting it online or cubing it on some level. Personally I believe it take about 4-5 drafts to get a handle on normal released draft format and that is not including the simply fact that most people expect this draft environment (When played properly) to be more intricate and skill intensive than the norm. In some ways I dislike the fact that the set is so value heavy and so expensive, since I love cracking packs and drafting complex sets like this in person, multiple times.
I guess in conclusion, I am saying I want a nice complex environment with a standard release and print run...Basically Time Spiral 2.0.

Or maybe a conspiracy 2 with not the value of MM sets, but all of the complexity and maybe more.

Personally, I'm just hoping to see Mystic Snake come back in updated border. Actually, the more Time Spiral shifts that enjoy the new border for the first time, the better.
(No, I don't think Squire will get that privilege.)
