Only complaint at this point is how the non-planeswalker minis are translucent (or transparent?) looking in the color of their respective slice of the color pie. I notice the bases also match, couldn't the base be enough to identify the creatures' colors?
Anyway, it's not even out and I can't wait til they tease expansions with other (hopefully 2-color) planeswalkers, to make it easier to speculate the system's use of mono-color and dual-color (if the rules even care about that sort of thing) so I can custom build armies for my custom planeswalkers.

Only Jace's illusions and Chandra's fire elementals are translucent. Liliana and Nissa get opaque figures, they're just in the background of the pictures we have (zombies for liliana and nature elementals + elf archers for nissa).

Oh. Okay, but then I did still see solid black zombies and what appear to be solid green elf archers.

I appreciate prepainted minis like the Planeswalkers, but they're also pretty expensive. I'd rather they keep the price point low. You could get into miniature painting and probably do a better job than most prepainted ones I wish I had the time, personally (or the talent)
Well, MSRP for the original Heroscape core sets was about $40, and that included about as many figures (plus a few much bigger ones) and a lot more plastic terrain pieces. In general, it wasn't that expensive compared to most Miniature games.
I'm not sure when the last new Heroscape game came out, but I kinda feel like this will be more niche so it might be more expensive due to not expecting to sell as many units. Also Heroscape made a chunk of change from the small unit expansions right out of the gate and it feels like they will not be available right away at least.
Ah, ok, that's good to know. I don't play that many minatures games and might have rushed to the conclusion that it should be expensive because it looks expensive to produce. So maybe 40 bucks might be feasible.
Well, other mini's games that I know of are of the collectable variety (heroclix, D&D, Warhammer) and can easily be bigger money sinks than MTG. Many euro-games like Waterdeep go very basic with infrastructure so they don't have the same production costs. Looking on Board Game Geek for games with similar production elements as Magic will have you have Super Dungeon Explore ($60-70) and Chaostle ($50), so I think expecting this to be less than $60 MSRP is probably wishful thinking.
It bugs me somewhat that the green planeswalker that's featured isn't Garruk, but Nissa. Seems to break the original planeswalker cycle a bit. But then that would require the white planeswalker to be Ajani, which wouldn't be very exciting.
Speaking of the mystery white planeswalker, maybe this will be a newly-revealed planeswalker who will be important to the storyline in one of the next few sets.
Aka Nahiri? Exactly what I was thinking when I saw that the white planeswalker is unrevealed for some reason.
Yeah that seems about right, that was my first thought.
I swear I first read it as Wingbonger...something tells me that "As Long as Wingbonger is paired with another creature, both creatures have weed." wouldn't be as good. Seems solid for limited.
I think using real cards that have very different effects is super confusing... however it kinda gives you the option of having custom cards based on real magic cards that could be super interesting once you have a good idea of game balance.
From the pictures I have to admit that it looks really boring since the spells you cast are the excat same as in a normal Magic match now just added an army to control. It doesnt seem that different and unique to what we already have
I personally wouldn't be surprised at all (or fault them) to see it 4 females characters and 1 male character in the starter. If this was the case I would also expect the first expansions to be released very close to concurrently with the starter, and to include other male walkers...
One thing I am noticing is that all the demo rounds seem to be on a relatively (when compared to heroscape) small "board" that is pretty confined. I wonder if that will be an actual rule of that standard game, but have options for larger boards. This would probably be a good idea because the size needs of heroscape can be a barrier to play. Though it might be just that the demo just uses a confined "board" for simplicity's sake.
It also creates a barrier to entry for those who don't play the card game. Heck, y'all in Oceania have to pay so much for cards as it is...why make this game more expensive?
Are there any images of the info cards for Chamdra or any of her creatures/spells? Heck, any play rules, especially where color or mana is involved?

But seriously, if this game is fun I'd like them to continue expanding on it...no Garruk feels weird, and if Ajani doesn't show up it's just unnatural.
I can't wait for more rules info, I very much want to do my own homebrew asap. Since it looks like this installment will feature only mono-colored walkers, so atm only the rules can help surmise how dual-colored walkers will likely be implemented. I also hope Ajani is included, since a Planeswalker I'd like to edit in is a Leonin.

I can't find the timing in the video where they say it, but what are Chandra's creatures? The phoenixes are obviously Chandra's Phoenixes but what are the other creatures?
