Evolving Wilds

Before clicking on the thread, I said to myself, "I hope it has new art!"
Of course it doesn't have new art. What was I thinking?

This reprint makes me happy, as a Limited player. This (and the functionally equivalent Terramorphic Expanse, of course) has always been right at the sweet spot for offering flexible, low-cost fixing without encouraging people to draft 5-Color Nonsense.
Not that I mind 5CN showing up as an archetype now and then, but I think it's better for the format if, most of the time, the fixing that people want to smooth out their 2-color manabases or enable a light splash isn't getting hoarded by that guy.
I don't follow your logic. If you want to get more forests, run forests instead of this. If you want something other than forests, why does it help Nissa?

The logic is Evolving Wilds is your choice of Forest and a different basic land. If let's say, you splash Abrupt Decay and already have one black source you might want to fetch a Forest to make Nissa's ability more powerful, otherwise you could fetch a Swamp.
So it helps Nissa in a way that it allows for splashing a color without screwing with your Forest count (too much).
I get where you're coming from, but it seems janky. Nissa will only reward you for having up to four forests on the battlefield, and potentially will punish you for having fewer in the deck. Evolving Wilds is one less potential forest in the library, and the "enters tapped" downside is pretty huge.
I guess it depends on what we actually get in Khans, at the end of the day. For the next couple months we still have shocklands, so the point is moot until September.

I assume we're getting a replacement for shock lands this fall. I doubt they'd give us just Evolving Wilds to work with Nissa in multicolor strategies. And I doubt they'd want to promote her as a mono green planeswalker.
If we get non-basic lands with basic land types in Khans (which I would love to see, almost as much as I'd love a fetchland reprint), we certainly wouldn't need Evolving Wilds at all.
Evolving Wilds is simply too clunky to play without an EXTREMELY compelling reason. I don't think Nissa qualifies as that reason.

This reprint is definitely a point in the favor of fetchlands (ally and/or enemy) being in Khans, as allowing a tutor effect at common indicate a willingness to let tutor effects come back to the fore. Liliana Vess also hints at this.

or they just wanted some mana fixing at common rarity and thought this was better than mana cylix or prophetic prism.

As ppl say, it all depends on what we get. He expressed my opinion (which is irrelevant now as you expressed) and if we have the choice to play 2 color ramp or 1 this is an option, ablight a bad one. If her feasibility is very high then I could see myself playing this. It's just an idea.

An enigma as vexing as life itself.
Funny. It kind of is a fetchland.
I would prefer a different artwork. Maybe a new one would have been better.

Storm Crow is strictly worse than Seacoast Drake.
Edit: Oh, never mind, lol. I thought Evolving Wilds was already in Standard. Disregard, carry on.

There you go, boys, it's everything you ever wanted.
.....Wait, why aren't you happy
