Aww, he costs 7. A worse Auratouched Mage? I don't even like running 7 drops in sealed or draft unless they're bombs, and unless you draft a big aura as well, this is no good.
I like that it includes graveyard, because it means you could make some stupid reanimator deck. Unburial rites him and slap on Eldrazi Conscription or something. Not sure if there's even a game-winning Aura card out there.
Eww...7 CMC? That's pretty horrendous in terms of cost, though I do really like that fetch ability. It's probably too expensive for enchantress Bruna EDH, but a tutor is a tutor I suppose.

I can't blame this card costing 7 CMC when it Tinkers an aura directly into play. Wizards has been burned time and time again by cards that tutor and bypass the mana cost of the cards searched for (Stoneforge Mystic immediately comes to mind).
Auratouched Mage would have been a great reprint to have, but I think they wanted to err on the safe side considering we just came off an enchantment block.
What possible reason was there to print this giant instead if reprinting auratouched mage in a coreset? Its not like it would tear up standard, the power level isnt far off. The templating on both cards lacks something, one has an inelegant but highly functional failsafe and the only remembers all zones. I dont see a compelling reason to leave the mage out

Sovereigns of Lost Alara was legal in standard at the same time as Eldrazi Conscription and it was hardly broken.
WOTC "err" on the safe side far too often. This is just one more card that won't affect deckbuilding in constructed.

If the Vikings were around today, they would probably be amazed at how much glow-in-the-dark stuff we have, and how we take it for granted.

The typical power difference between equipment and auras is pretty massive, though. Equipment doesn't drop to the graveyard alongside its wielder. Plus, what's the most bonkers aura you could grab with this in Standard right now, if that's the concern? Righteous Authority? Unflinching Courage? Holy Mantle? They're fine cards, but hardly worth a casting cost of seven of when Sovereigns of Lost Alara, Auratouched Mage, etc. do it for cheaper, and Sovereigns does it repeatedly. All the great Theros block auras aren't even auras by default so they're not a consideration.
Why isn't this competetively costed? With a slightly lower cost it could spawn its own archetype in standard, now it's questionable even for limited (unless some really good aura or ramp gets spoiled). It lacks the failsafe of Auratouched Mage or the exalted and reusable tutoring of Sovereigns of lost Alara and yet it's still more expensive than those cards. Those cards were hardly oppressive in non-rotating formats. Something more along the lines of Stonehewer Giant would have been so much better, and it's not like Stonehewer is seeing play either.
Skybind blink fun seems to be in order IMO. Use it with a card draw enchantment or just a Eidolon of Blossoms and you've got a blinking loop each turn.

MTG Junky... First packs being a starter of each 4th Edition and Ice Age. Good Grief, I've been playing since 1995? Where does the time go!

this is mtgs, where occam's razor is so blunt it can't cut jello any more.
I am wondering how this works with non-Enchant creature Auras. As the wording is different to Auratouched Mage: "you may search your graveyard, hand and/or library for an Aura card and put it onto the battlefield attached to Boonweaver Giant" vs "search your library for an Aura card that could enchant it.", it seems that it is possible to search up an Aura such as Underworld Connections.
I have a feeling this is a rules issue that has arisen with a previous card that I don't know of?
Otherwise I wonder if the interaction is that it attempts to be attached to Boonweaver Giant, doesn't work and goes to the graveyard, or if it enters the battlefield and you choose a new target as the first is not legal?
Bruna has to attack or block to get her effect and she doesn't search your library, she's also wants three colored mana spread across two colors. In an EDH deck she's probably better (although she will want this alongside her) but in Modern this has the potential to crush people. Notice that it searches library, hand, and graveyard so there's zero need to assist it other than having the Aura you want and even if they kill it the next one will get the Aura back.
I'm sure sure there's currently a deck that wants this but one could easily develop. A 14/14 trampler with Annihilator 2 for 7 mana is not a bad deal at all. Makes a good finisher for a white deck that like to blink stuff.
I mean, knowing it was an uncommon and knowing it was in M15 kept my hopes incredibly low to begin with....but this is just BAD.
And yes, I mean it's bad. I mean there are countless other cards others have discussed that they could have brought back, and instead they decided to actually use time to design garbage. It's just one card but at this point, I feel like cards on this power level are just an indication of M15 as a whole. Ugh.

If an aura attempts to enter the battlefield attached to something, but cannot be attached to it (whether due to being underworld connections or the giant not being there), then the aura doesn't change zones. So if you chose Underworld connections as your aura, it'd stay in your library when it came time to do anything with it. In other words, don't pick things that can't enchant the giant. It won't work out.

Yeah M15's only highlights have been expensive reprints, most of the new stuff has been lackluster even for limited.

"It is an uncommon creature."
So... close?
They're slow-rolling.
Edit: Seems like a flavor fail to not be able to use the previous blocks mechanics with this. Junk.
Except you can't.
Well, if I'm not mistaken you can't search for Bestow creatures as they only become an Aura when you play them for their Bestow cost.

I kind of want to try this just because it would amuse me...
