Chronostutter 5U
Instant (C)
Put target creature into its owner's library second from the top. Timing is everything.
Nimbus of the Isles 4U
Creature - Elemental (C)
Flying The people of the Sevick Isles have a unique understanding of the term "ominous clouds."

Research Assistant 1U
Creature - Human Wizard (C) 3U, T: Draw a card, then discard a card. There are many words and phrases that can cause an experienced wizard to tremble in fear. Chief among them is "oops."
1/3
Festergloom 2B
Sorcery (C)
Nonblack creatures get -1/-1 until end of turn. The death of a scout can be as informative as a safe return.
Borderland Marauder 1R
Creature - Human Warrior (C)
When borderland Marauder attacks, it gets +2/+0 until end of turn. Though she is rightly feared, there are relatively few tales of her deeds in battle, for few survive her raids.
1/2
Shaman of Spring 3G
Creature - Elf Shaman (C)
When Shaman of Spring enters the battlefield, draw a card. Some shamanic sects advocate the different seasons, each working to preserve nature's cycles.

at first look at research assistant, "eww, so looter's ability costs 4 now? wtf?". But it's actually not bad - a 1/3 body will stop most 2 drops (marauder excluded, obviously), and then in the late-game you can cash out extra lands for something useful, when mana is less of a concern. So it replaces early-game hand sculpting with early-game blocking. Still probably worse than looter, but definitely playable in limited, imo.
Holy crap Shaman of Spring and Research Assistant are horrendously worse than their cheaper counterparts. I guess the Assistant is fine in limited, but wow, talk about strictly worse in the grand scheme of Magic.
Wow, other than Borderland Marauder these cards are garbage haha. But the marauder is pretty good. More often than not, I'd rather have this than Gore-House Chainwalker, personally. I am most disappointed with Chronostutter. Such an awesome name for such a junk card. What a waste

Because some people, one in particular I won't name thinks creatures aren't spells and are dudes that turn sideways. he thinks Tarmogoyf is just a dude that turns sideways.
And I remember in Alpha/Beta days people were writing on things like Time Walk and Recall as proxies for dudes that turned sideways because a Serra Angel and Sengir Vampire was worth way more than a Time Walk.

That's silly -- Serra Angel didn't turn sideways!
You are quite correct sir. But the point was that these cards:
Serra Angel, Sengir Vampire, Royal Assassin, Shivan Dragon, Mahomoti Djinn, and the Force of Nature were the power cards. I still remember Assassin being worth around 40-50 in cash, more than a 5 dollar dual land.
The bad looter is probably a little better than it looks. Merfolk Looter is obviously much more powerful, but Merfolk Looter is also an enchantment that dies to creature removal rather than a real creature, whereas a 2-mana 1/3 can actually block some things. And there's a lot of space for something to be "much worse than Merfolk Looter" and still be playable.

Can you respond to someone searching their library (and then shuffling it) with Chronostutter? Commander tuck for blue?
Yes you can respond to a shuffle effect with Chronostutter and then there card will be shuffled away, potentially forever. It don't think it's worth it in EDH though, where you get Spin into Myth for one mana less that doesn't require extra set up, Void Stalker which comes attached to a body, Spell Crumple and Hinder which are just solid counters in general, and you have Griptide and Time Ebb which do basically the same thing as this card for much cheaper and nobody plays those outside of janky Daxos decks.

Nimbus of the Isles is a COMMON, this is the standard/average rate for a COMMON on this type LOL
In almost every comparison, the better card is a higher rarity. WHAT A SURPRISE :/
Now I want to see an alter with a Striped Bear wearing an elf mask.
It should have been an uncommon and cost 3 less

The Striped Bears is clearly meant to be a mediocre dude and slow engine piece for the Roaring Primadox deck.
The bad looter is probably a little better than it looks.
