"This may come as a surprise to you, but Khans of Tarkir won't have shock lands. I know, shocking, right?"
Sorry for all of those of you who were praying and pleading, but Shock Lands will NOT be returning. So is this more evidence for Fetch Lands? Or is this just a bunch of nothing?
EDIT - Sorry for the vagueness earlier! I essentially wanted to post this to help rule out some rumors that had been going around. Yeah, believe it or not there were already rumors of Shock Lands returning in Tankir. Anyhow, maybe this is a hint towards Fetches?
this was already posted earlier learn to read other post before posting repeat stuff :/
No, that was a forum post about the five lands of M15. This is so everyone stops talking about fetch lands being reprinted. This could confirm their reprint a little more, perhaps.

lolwat?
confirming shocks aren't in the set (which absolutely nobody in their right mind would think they are, hence Stoddard's joke) has virtually zero relevance to the speculation of an entirely different set of lands being in.
surely you must be trolling. that, or you have smoked yourself <stupid>.

While I agree that this thread is stupid, the lack of shocklands causing checklands to be removed does mean that the next dual lands are not lands that can enter the battlefield untapped with basic land types. So it does mean something.
Seriously though, I hope literally no one hoped for or expected shocks in khans

My guess is that with the the old pain lands being reprinted here we can expect the enemy 5 in Khans. Wouldnt be at all surprising.
No, if you read the article Stoddard said that they want to make sure that all colors have the same land support in block, so what ever dual is printed in Khans will have all color iterations over the while block.
thank god this has finally been cleared up. it's driving me crazy when every post by every poster here for the past 6 months is about hoping that Shocklands would return in the next block. i mean, in the same block where fetchlands are sure to make a return?

Perhaps you misread. If they have the five old ones here. Then printing the enemy will give you all ten. Thus even color distribution. This was seen with innistrad.

In Standard it would make it even. However, it would make the manabases in Block horrible. It also can't happen because they have Dominaria-specific names.

IN BLOCK.

...our hope moving forward with Standard is to make sure that players have the mana base to make their decks work, and part of that means that players in Block will also have adequate mana.

What I was trying to say ^ but some people can't put two and two together.
It's not set in stone. This sounds a lot like innistrad eh?
Do you know the difference between standard and block? In order to have adequate mana "in block" that means that after all three sets are released there needs to be all the duals representing all the colors equally.

Oh, so you were trying to say that the next dual cycle that is printed will not have basic land types (even though it has only ever happened twice in Magic's history and is almost certain not to happen again for a decade)? Well, you should try using those words.

The article is also a possible indicator that the next cycle of dual lands will enter the battlefield tapped on turn 1 no matter what. Otherwise they wouldn't have needed more turn 1 dual lands because they'd be coming up in Tarkir.

They will do full cycles of duals in block(to help block constructed and fixing) ( while in core they can do just half the cycle...)
Khans will have a full 10 dual land cycle or will have 5 (mono or fetche)(they didn't said anything about all ten fetches at once )
