Darksteel Citadel and Shrapnel Blast make me wonder if this is an early version of the lists that they just used to test the new decklist format. Those seem way too powerful for the same core set.
That's just silly. Darksteel Citadel and Shrapnel Blast by themselves are a cute throwback to an overpowered deck of the past. It's kind of like duel decks where you get a little taste of something that used to be overpowered, but is perfectly fair in its current build. I mean really, one artifact land isn't enough to make Shrapnel Blast playable at all. It would make me smile to get both in limited if I can get my hands on enough other playable artifacts to justify running either, though. I mean 5 damage for 2 is great, but not if you have to play a bunch of junk just to get it.

Artifacts were also all but absent from Theros block, it'd be nice if there were a little higher than average number of artifacts in M15. A minor artifact theme, if you will.
Some of these costs are making me think that we are heading towards Battlecruiser magic again, certainly there seem to be a lot of high cost (almost) board wipes available along with some really expensive spells and creatures (and not just ones with convoke)
Seems perhaps either devotion is going to be a thing (Hence the inclusion of Nykthos in a pack) or something else is afoot…
Isn't the Clash Pack just awful? Wasn't that supposted to be an equivalent of an Event Deck after you merge the 2 decks into 1? Aside from Nykthos there's NO value there and constructed viability of the merged deck is much below even the crappy JOU event deck.

the list for the clash pack has: 42&46 cards decks while it should have 60&60 card decks
we know 6 rares:
and i don't know if i m correct but there should be a total of 10-12 rares
and like the intropacks , new cards from M15 were absent soo we just saw the reprints and cards from Theros

I'll take it one step further and say that the artifact support in M15 is hinting at something about Khans of Tarkir. Maybe there will be a higher-than-normal amount of equipment in that set?
In the name and number-crunch it is apparent that there is a lot of slots available for multicoloured/artifacts/lands.
From these spoils, it appears as if there is a small artifact sub-theme, and that a lot of these slots will be taken up by artifacts to make stuff like Shrapnel Blast viable.
Lessens the chance of a cycle of dual lands perhaps.
If true, all of this should be reprinted in M15, except the stuff that is already in Theros block.
Really happy to see a playset of Elvish Mystic in the clash pack. If that's the new Llanowar Elves, you should be handing out playsets to players whenever possible.
Also, Kithkins in M15 says some weird stuff about Khans, I think. Makes me excited for the possibility of some juicy Lorwyn/Shadowmoor reprints in core sets.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I keep seeing this comment thrown around. KSkirmisher is just a good card. The designers have been scooting it around DotP for some time now, putting something like a complete set of them in a blink deck of the game. They just have found new love for the card in any limited environment. Not to mention that it does give new players a little taste of the overall flavor of MtG universe; which is kind of the point of a core set.
What I'm trying to say is... please don't read too much in KSkirmisher's inclusion.
Not really sure why anyone would see Darksteel Citadel as being overpowered in current Standard. In fact, I can't see any reason why any deck in Standard would even use it, at least aside from the possibility of what else may be coming in the new sets.
Rather than another artifact theme (which I think would be too soon still), my real wish is that this could be a sign that they are bringing back a land destruction theme to the next block. But we all know that's not going to happen.

You have a fair point, for sure, but we've seen them turn planar specific cards into more generic versions (Recent example being Llanowar Elves becoming Elvish Mystic) for the core set because they specifically don't want planar races to be a thing unless there's a reason behind it. I did some quick research on planar specific races in core sets (I looked at Kithkin, Kor, Veldaken and Kobold, as those four came to my mind the fastest.) and it's happened twice among those four races, once in 4th edition and once in 10th, long before they decided to make the change.
Also, Wizards has had chance to do Kithkin cards in core sets that would have made total sense (Ballyrush Banneret in the core set where they spammed Soldiers, Goldmeadow Harrier when they printed Gideon's Lawkeeper) and instead turned them into generics or didn't include them at all. I don't see why they wouldn't do the same with Skirmsher, especially since it references a particular plane.

Since JOU they've become more liberal with underused creature types. The artifact theme is something that makes sense for Khans block, the same with the "return of Battlecruiser magic' whenever we see Dragons of Tarkir. I'm expecting tokens and big dragons.

Battlecruiser Magic is a Limited environment that revolves around very slow buildup, usually revolving around a lot of things like defenders, slow mana ramp, and permanents with abilities that act as big mana sinks, which reward you for playing slow and using your resources wisely over extended periods of time. The concept was more or less "introduced" via Rise of the Eldrazi, one of the more popular Limited metagames.

Lots of other cool reprints as some have mentioned. This is shaping up to be a solid core set.

Or is this just a special release like with another set symbol like, uh, Modern Masters or Conspiracy?
(I don't really know how else to describe that. "New sets that aren't Standard legal?")

The other two could be Prophet of Kruphix (likely), Prognostic Sphinx (also pretty likely), Curse of the Swine and Temple of Mystery (unlikely).
