This is arguably even more generic a theme than Heroes vs. Monsters-
We truly are headed for Duel Decks: Thing 1 Vs Thing 2.
There fixed it for you. Though I can understand your sentiments, I mean not even a picture this time to help us wonder what the next block is to be about besides the most generic text really that could have been taken from a history book.
Lets stop complaining and start analyzing. Maro says the next block is a bottom-up design, and the ideas of "speed" and "cunning" refer to what the cards inside would be designed as. The description in the article doesn't refer to anything but what would be imagined in a combat scenario. I'd venture to guess that Warlords of Khanar/Khans of Tarkir will focus around combat.
Dah, a fixed form of Flanking would be fantastic. Or just straight-up Flanking, I'd be totally okay with that.
Yeah, the title is not very flavourful. What's next is probably Aggro vs Midrange, or Tempo vs. Control.
But if we are to extract something out of the very little information we have, it seems the bottom-up set is designed with combat as the focus.
Basic are combat mechanics like haste, flash and vigilance. A bushido/rampage/flanking variant is expected.
I imagine there would be some creatures that can "counter attack" while on the defense.
I wonder how complicated they can make combat without making it hard to analyze.
I am now pretty convinced this is a combat-matters block. They came to barbarian tribes as the theme the same way they came up with exploration world for the land matters block.
Racing across the Blazing steppe, the wave of attackers crests the barren hiLls. Nothing cAn stop their reCKless advance. These warriors Live fast, fight hard, and strike terrOr into the hearTs of those in their path. The scarred coUntryside Seems abandoned. Then, suddenly, hIdden fighterS spring from ambush. THE overconfident enemy REcoils in surprise, outflanked and outsmarted. Who will prevail, the swift or the sly?
Black Lotus reprint confirmed!
Some people are.... GOD!
I just see the "Mongolian" steppe, riders on horseback and bandits waiting in ambush. I think that if anything is "confirmed", it is the "Mongolian" theme of Khans of Tarkir.
I am not going to touch the other comments here even with a ten-foot pole. Do you seriously think you are funny?

I mean, hell, we're all on a forum for something that most people would describe as a "children's card game"...do what makes you happy. You are never too old to enjoy yourself.
A few things about Mongols and the likely setting of this next block:
1. This is not Japan, Bushido and Ninjistu will not be in it. Those two mechanics are 100% influenced by Japanese culture and not Mongol.
2. "Barbarian" is a far too sweeping term to use for a Mongolian theme. Simply saying "barbarian" could refer to anything from Persia while it was warring with Athens and the other Greek city-states to pre-Caesar Britannia, from Scandinavian Vikings to the Natives of the Americas in the Columbian era. Yes, the Mongolian horde is an excellent example of what western civilization has classified as a barbarian people in history, but they are certainly not the only ones.
Historical hang-ups: out of the way. I feel better now.
Sometimes I feel like the word "interactivity" around here is akin to the word "electrolytes" in sports drinks. The public doesn't really know what it means, but they figure it's a good thing to have.

Not disagreeing with you, but it is possible they may tweak the abilities a bit, as either a Ninjitsu or Bushido like ability could work if reskinned and reworked. Mark Rosewater has said as much at least, so it's not out of the question to see the same or similar ability show up under a different name.
If I were to guess, Bushido is at least more likely of the two as it is far simpler of an ability, and likely easier to rework into something.
weird name! strength versus cunning would have been a better name if it was supposed to be duel decks: control vs. aggro. however, given what the name is, one side will probably be all in reddish attackers while the other side is going to have wolfir avenger type stuff that will 'outwit' the opponent?
I wish my 4/4s with haste and first strike that acted as Goblin Warchiefs were better and didn't die to instants and overshadowed all other 4 drops in the format. And that they had evasion too, and some way to dodge wrath effects.
I thought Khans/Warlords sounded as if the format is going to speed up again. I'll take this as another indication. Bland name, yes, but far from devoid of information.
