I must say, though, that once you've removed all the sorcery cards from the deck, it's surprisingly easy to wipe out the heads in play, even with the accumulated damage at the Hydra end step from untapped heads.
I don't see how you could win at all under such circumstances, since with a deck nearly full of heads, each destroyed head would almost guarantee two heads in return, thus dealing you double the damage you'd normally take on the Hydra's turn and making your "wipe out all heads" job exponentially harder each turn.
Has anyone tried the hydras versus commander decks? I play Darien, King of Kjeldor. Never had so many soldiers spawned before. Absurd. The end result? An absolute routing of those heads. lol

When playing Commander against the Hydra, I think you'd have to have your life total start at 20, not 40. If you did the latter, no wonder the heads were routed!
I wasn't reading the rules. And the person who "controlled the heads" and reading of the hydra text says we start at 40, using Commander life totals. For anyone's info, it's really not easy even at 40 life. Three heads to start and 3 to the dome immediately. We're routed every single game until I pulled out Darien. lol
So, it turns out that this hydra was actually a Nessian Wilds Ravager the whole time. It didn't really feel like a 6/6 to me.
EDIT: Sorry for necro, trying to reference.

Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
I fear I won't have much time to play Magic these days.
I get to watch worlds develop around me.
I get to watch great leaders, terrible oppressors, and trend setters rise and fall.
Limited, Standard, Modern, everything is a different playing field I feel I can observe, but will not actually touch.
I look forward to the stories I will hear.
And more so to the ones I will watch unfold first hand.
Isn't the unknown exciting?
