I think the main issues with Jace's art for me and some others are the head and the legs.
The head is actually realistically sized; I've seen plenty of people with that build. The problem is that his head is too large for a heroic build. The heroic build has a smaller head, and it's what we've come to expect for fantasy art. That's why people aren't complaining about Vraska; Igor Kieryluk gave her a smaller head in comparison to her body, which looks more like the heroic build.
The other issue is the legs. They seem a bit too short below the knees. I think the issue might be the perspective, since it's a bit hard to judge proportions when the other leg is bent like that and the tabard covers where his legs meet his body.
I generally like Igor Kieryluk's art, and what's good about some of his other pieces (Like the color palette) is good here. It's just that Jace's proportions kinda weird me and others out.

The wedding is over. Now it's time for the honeymoon.
I actually prefer the new Vraska art over the original, but that Jace just looks awkward. The collar of his robes make it look like his neck is at some weird, unnatural angle.
I won't say jace is that bad, but it seems pretty low energy compared to what planeswalker arts usually depict.
True. Jace also doesn't have his trademark hand-full-of-counterspells smug look on his face.
His look says more "When I find that Vraska, I'm gonna give her a piece of my mind, or... take a piece of hers... or something. I'm sure I'll think of something witty by the time I see her."

My decks
Standard - RIP Cat
Modern - Death & Taxes
Commander - Mazirek, Trostani, Angry Omnath
Kinda funny how they ended up doing another really slanted pairing from an ability perspective, considering Vraska straight up eats Jace as soon as she hits the table.
Yeah, Vraska is a very odd choice as Jace's opponent. I know Gideon or Ral Zerek would have been other appropriate choices that wouldn't overlap her colors (Domri overlaps her colors, so I think he's a bad choice as a duel deck opponent).

Strange that they wait until RTR has just 6 months left in standard before releasing this. By then Ravnica block will feel like very old news.
Do they always do Duel Decks this way?
looking at hin i would say jace is becoming tired and fat dealing with politics but as the guardian of the guild pact he will probably be stuck on rav for a long time .
For all people that hates jace think about it:The next time we ll see Jace again is probably in RTRTR block or in Ruins of Zendikar Block or if Jace decides to leave Ravinica forever...
Red should be burn, Goblins, Dragons, draw/discard, and Standard-unplayable 5CMC cards with insane, lengthy effects that take 10 minutes to figure out what they do and another 20 to actually make their effects work on the field.
I rather like the Jace art, actually. It doesn't necessarily jive with the hyper-saturated look WoTC tends to use nowadays, but it has an ethereal quality to it that really works for Jace. I also really enjoy the casual stoic poses the walkers have here. It's a huge (and welcome) change of pace from the dramatic perspectives and battle poses of other walkers, which can range from awesome to "dat butt".
I was like "Please let it be Mind Sculptor, please let it be Mind Sculptor...."
*looks* DAMN IT! Yeah yeah I know it got "reprinted" in FTV:20 but come on that FTV was a joke. Jace and Venser plus... a crapload of uncommons and commons.
Anyways I don't mind the art. Vraska art is gorgeous. I think the Jace art might actually look cooler in person in all it's foily glory. I like the pose.

To the people that say that a card needs to be a higher rarity because of Limited... I hate you guys so much. I present to you with this.
Igor's Elspeth wasn't his best either.
That being said, remember that the ARTIST ACTUALLY POSTS HERE. Keep that in mind if you're going to start bashing on his work please.
Anyways, really interesting that Jace is the aggressor in this conflict considering it would have been fairly easy to make him the target of an assassination.
So the fact that the artist posts here means we should censor ourselves and not criticize?
When I saw the announcement, I thought this duel deck was supposed to be fake, a joke, like pirates vs ninjas, and gideon with liliana. Then I realized it wasn't April.
The art for Jace and Vraska seriously doesn't mesh well with the packaging. Maybe Vraska meshes well, but Jace doesn't.
Duel decks usually have the feature cards face one another. Is Jace so scared of turning to stone that he doesn't dare face Vraska? What is this? They're on the same team or something?

I think the posing is supposed to show that Jace just noticed Vraska. He's walking by on the street, gets that uncanny feeling of someone watching him, and looks behind him.
It's the setup to a confrontation, not the confrontation itself.

Ever since Venser vs Koth.
On Modern Masters 2:
Will be kept until 12/31/2013 to prove if Right or Wrong.Proven right 1/27/2013The Vraska has a great design behind it, but I do appreciate the original more.
Look at it this way, at least it doesn't have any red.
If Gideon was in this duel deck instead of Jace, Gideon's deck will be Red White, considering his allegiance.
...and then Jace's deck is UR....
I'll save the "WTFBBQ" for when it does happen.
I an going to say this now. Jace looks scarier than Vraska.
The packaging is also a turn off.
Haters.
Only thing that disappoints me is the return of golgari colors immediately after a golgari duel deck.
Patch me back to my mind
Makes sense. Looks like that's what's about to happen in the art. Jace realizes Vraska's there, turns to look and poof!

I am also on the "Jace needs to go away and his art is bad" team.
I think it's pretty clear he's wearing some kind of armor. He is about to go do battle with an assassin, who is... a woman and wearing a slinky dress.
Anyway look at his right arm versus his left. Gloved and thicker because... magic.
