They killed quite a bit of red with regards to design space. And they're rectifying it very slowly... Snapcaster should have been a red card, to be fair.
Mill is an interesting angle of attack, the bad part about it is the lack of impact on the board. They should keyword Mill, because it's too wordy. Once we get that bit settled, wizards can do things like "Mill 4, then put a blue 0/1 Homunculus/Illusion creature token onto the battlefield." <-- Just an example.
I mean blue is about tricks, so why can't blue mages conjure up Homunculus/Illusion? We've seen some examples over the years, but these could be done more often instead of mill. Or maybe in tandem with mill.

There have been 30 red cards with flashback and 22 blue cards with flashback. There have been 63 blue cards with flash and 45 red cards with flash. I see no reason why Snapcaster "should have been red." He "could have been red," sure, but he's definitely either (or they could have made him cost RU).

I feel like this argument has been had before.
Does anyone have the link to MaRo's thoughts on Snapcaster? I believe he said Tiago had originally wanted a land, but they told him no, then he wanted a blue a creature. Then something like MaRo agrees that Snap "could have been red."

Yes, could have. Should have and could have are very, very different things. He could have been mono-blue, he could have been mono-red, or he could have been red-blue. There's no argument whatsoever that he should have been red instead of blue.
Then they need to print versions of him that don't scream "Dimir". Currently the only one that does that is Architect of thought (minus the ulti). Mind Sculptor is a 100% u/b card and that is the most Jace walker we have.
How do any of them scream UB? People have already laid out JtMS pretty well.
Belern:
Bunch of Blue cards have everyone draw cards.
Drawing a card without life lose is Blue.
Straight up milling is primary blue.
ALL of Jace's abilities are mono-blue. I'm surprised anyone would think about Jace being anything but blue at this point, especially since he basically saved Ravnica (more white than black). You could even make a case for the Jace deck having a splash of red for a few Izzet spells, though we're really stretching it here.
Do you think he still has the hots for Liliana or what?? Jace has other things to do. The guy is blue . End of story.
All I know is: fingers crossed for Remand. It's a blue card for Jace that ties into Ravnica (Izzet even!) and really need a Modern Masters reprint. But I'll try not to get my hopes too high...
Oh God Jace. He looks like some Russian Emo kid...
but back to the point. This is great hopefully, new flavor texts on reprints will expand more into the RTR storyline
Please keep this thread on topic. This thread is about discussing how people hate jace and why wizards is dumb and how all their choices are bollocks in some indentity. For discussion of this duel deck, i wouldnt suggest the internet.

I fear I won't have much time to play Magic these days.
I get to watch worlds develop around me.
I get to watch great leaders, terrible oppressors, and trend setters rise and fall.
Limited, Standard, Modern, everything is a different playing field I feel I can observe, but will not actually touch.
I look forward to the stories I will hear.
And more so to the ones I will watch unfold first hand.
Isn't the unknown exciting?
Do you think he still has the hots for Liliana or what??
He does, actually, IIRC, but that's actually irrelevant to your case. Jace and Liliana's relationship can't work because of their irreconcilable color differences, hence UST and drama and all that.
You know he just had 4 printings in roughly a year. If he wasn't going to stop popping up before, he's not going to now.
Maybe we'll get lucky and wizards will have a health scare on jace-overdose and decide to go to rehab and like cut back to once a year (core set :p) or even quit cold turkey and be done for good (or at least a year or two).
Yeah.. feeling like anyone with an addict for a significant other all over again lol
Wizard's gonna keep shooting jace until they cant.

Maybe, just mayyyybe, jace will be a new jace for the fall expansion. It would make sense as to why they are printing an "RTR" dual deck so long after the block.

Sure, except that's what they've BEEN doing. Sorin v. Tibalt was a year after Innistrad block and Venser v. Koth was a year after Scars
So weird how everyone's reaction to the Jace art is distaste. My first impression was that it was awesome. I *really* like the way Jace looks. Good photorealism. Less anime-esque like the memory adept. Love this art style. And honestly, I don't see how people could like the original AoT art over this.

Which, if you think about it, is pretty lame for those that buy (or get bought for them) the Duel Deck. You're getting a lot of cards that, right off the bat, aren't standard legal, another handful that aren't standard playable, and then the items of interest are months away from rotating out. I'd be much more impressed if, say, Heroes vs. Monsters had had a ton more cards from Theros, including a chase rare, so that people buying it actually get stuff they can play with right away.
That being said, I really liked Sorin v Tibalt as it had a lot of stuff that was playable in Modern (like a spectral processions)

Yeah, that's super disappointing for everyone who expects to get cards for their Standard decks from a product aimed at casual players.

Polukranos? Very playable 4-of mythic in most green decks. It's part of the reason the card hasn't cracked $10. But I agree about seeing some good Modern cards sprinkled in, hence why I've been yearning for a Remand reprint in this DD.

I will always firmly stand by the belief that Magic is a game first and a collectable second.
Sometimes. To promote a set, they do that. But it's usually 1 or 2 cards tops.

Tank it? No. Bring it down to a more reasonable amount? Yes.
A great example to look towards is the Sorin vs. Tibalt deck, and the affect that had on Sorin's price tag. He came down, but didn't tank.
