Oh wow. This looks great! It looks like they've been learning a thing or two from their previous EDH general forays; they're printing generals with open-ended and interesting interesting build-around-me effects, that are at a respectable point on the power spectrum.
What sorts of cards can we abuse with this? Grim Monolith? Infinite mana with Deadeye Navigator?
I also find the art pretty great. What the heck is that thing? A robot owl bird lady shooting laser beams?

Patch me back to my mind
As a bant player I am kind of on the fence about it. I could see a lot of fun and interesting ways of using it, but... I dunno. I am torn. I will probably keep using Jenara until I can really test it out more.
Mmm.. Counter proof (read: hinder/spell crumble proof ...), 2/3 with invation and flash for 4 mana....
Seems way overpowered.
I understand and like that WoTC to trying to embrace a game style designed by other people; it's cool. But now, if this general is real, they break a fundamental rule!

She actually only really costs three mana to flash in from the command zone. It's afour mana initial investment, but then you can untap a land, Merfolk Reejerey style. Pretty solid, not broken commander. I like the idea.
BIRD TRIBAAAALLL!
These are the generals we need to get each year. What a fun card that can be so fun to fun with.
Oh THANK YOU! I'm kind of well known (in my play group) for an absolutely brutal bird tribal (60 card) deck that...well, played king maker in a 5 man EDH game when my friends were trying to get me to try out edh. I only lost because i have 4 consecutive turns of people swinging out at me.
Well, i guess my Jenara is getting retired in less than a month, i don't even have to change my deck at all. All the combos are already in there.

Ive been meaning to make a bird tribal deck for like 7 months now. BOOM! Done! Screw work. Gotta take a few days off to set dis **** up.
Does anybody else think this general has the greatest art of the ones currently spoiled? Reminds me of veronique merignald.
So wait imagine this guy with gaea's cradle and a sack outlet. Seems pretty absurd to me how good this guy is.
Guy is pretty strong. So much for this guy getting tucked by hinder or spell crumple and company. 4 mana to make this guy uncounterable and have flash each time? Worth it.

"Yawgmoth," Freyalise whispered as she set the bomb, "now you will pay for your treachery."
Seems pretty good alongside birthing pod.... and by that I mean a one card immediately game winning combo.
Deveri, pod into timbermare, untap pod, sac timbermare for a peregrine drake, flash in Deveri and pod deveri for a Vesuvan Shapeshifter, copying Peregrine Drake. Reflash Deveri and pod Vesuvan for Deadeye Navigator, creating an infinite mana combo with Peregrin Drake.
Result: your friends never play EDH with you again. You question if this general has a spot somewhere between "godawful broken" and "lots of fun".

Slingin' cardboard out of Yokohama, Japan. (if you're local and play EDH or want to test competitive, drop me a line!)
Bant has something new. Ufff it's gorgeous. At first I thought it read "Whenever a creature you control ETB" and I was like op, even I know how to break that. Thank goodness its when it is when a creature deals damage. Phw, close one!

I am confused as to how you are untapping pod when you just sacked Derevi.
No one has mentioned Food Chain.
Am I mistaken that that combo is broken?
Edit: Just found out you need Orochi Leafcaller to make that combo work. Not bad for three cards though. Since one is a General, it's really only a two card combo.
Edit Edit: Read the card. You can only use Food Chain mana to cast creatures. This won't work for Derevi's ability. Thanks Onderzeeboot.

Yes you are. Derevi's cc will still increase, whereas the mana you gain from Food Chain will always look at the printed value (without commander tax) and you can't activate his activated ability with the mana from Food Chain.

But if you add a Training Grounds, or Heartsone... Possibly?
I hope so, I really like the concept.

Combos with:
-Deadeye Naviagator, which combos with so much already...
-Finest Hour and Rafiq of the Many for more combat triggers.
-Mana Vault and Grim Monolith because why not.
-Yosei, the Morning Star to keep them locked, works well with...
-...Adarkar Valkyrie to make things REALLY interesting.
-Knight of the Reliquary for some serious landfall, if that is what you are into.
-Stasis and something to give vigilance (Heliod, God of the Sun for example) so attacking means untapping...
and so much more!
You people keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Oh, trust me, we wouldn't even use that word if we didn't know what we were talking about. This thing is a broken bird. Period.
