No God can rival the power of a mighty Axebane Stag.
- L
Axebane Stag is a power that should not be taken lightly. It eats 3 titans, and trades with 2. It eats 3 praetors, trades with 1, and bounces off the last. Heck, the Myojins are gods too, and it eats 3 of them while trading with 1 and dying to the last.

I primarily play limited, so most of my spoiler season comments view cards through that lens.
Some people in that thread was saying that god as creature type is impossible due to it will being offensive to religious people. Guess they're just wrong.

That's... not why God would be vaguely inappropriate as a creature type. It's because all deific figures of Magic's past have basically been Angels, Demons, or Avatars. Okay, and Spirits on Kamigawa.

Nah. Most religions accept the use of the English term god to describe their various deities, even with the strong Christian connotation.

Everyone knows that good luck and good game are such insincere terms that any man who does not connect his right hook with the offender's jaw on the very utterance of such a phrase is no man I would consider as such.
Already it's super efficient, colored for any R, W or R/W decks.. but now. It's a devotion enabler?
This God mechanic will encourage all sorts of balance in the Mana-costs of symbols, if the god form of creatures is any good. At least in anything other than RW..
Red/White will be able to use gods with just Boros Reckoner, providing symbols for both Red and White, while requiring a firm commitment to neither.
Also a note that Minotaur will have a minor tribal theme.. so his creature type becomes relevant too?
Who did Reckoner sleep with? Seriously.. so much love.

I think it's pretty clever to introduce the devotion mechanic the after a block that feature hybrid mana. There is at least a hope that 2+ color devotion deck.
Gods could be Avatars in my opinion, the word "God" has too many ethic problems to be used, I would ve very surprised...
Well we had goat, human sacrifice sacrifice and stuff recently so having a card called "God" which clearly depicts fantasy stuff shouldn't cause much ethics issue in my opinion.
So, yeah, I got the exact wording. We weren't far off...
Thassa, God of the Sea 2U
Legendary Enchantment Creature -God M
Indestructible
As long as your devotion to blue is less than five, Thassa isn’t a creature. (Each {oU} in the mana costs of permanents you control adds to your devotion to blue.)
At the beginning of your upkeep, scry 1. 1U: Target creature you control can’t be blocked this turn.
5/5

If cast early (well, probably most of the time), I see this card as:

Legendary Enchantment -God M
Indestructible

Faulty logic. The statement was that a 5/5 indestructible for 3 would be too powerful. Spearbreaker is a 5/5 conditional indestructible for 7.
Why is it conditional? It is just indestructible and can make others indestructible.
Also, Jedezter stated that
Actually a 5/5 indestructible with any CMC is OP

This is not how bans/unbans work. Its always the enabler that gets the ban, not the card that is being abused. If you would have Yawgmoths will + whatever cards - it would be Yawgs that would be banned. If you would have Stoneforge and batterskull - it would be stone who would be banned and that is exactly how it works. Furthermore, banning a card in order to unban a different card is a thought process that was and wont be never applied in practical means.
A 5/5 indestructible for 2U would be broken, even with the devotion restriction... This plus the other abilities.... Actually a 5/5 indestructible with any CMC is OP
I this is real, thats just CRAZY. A 5/5 for 3 Mana that is Indestructible and fix your draws? And she can make creature unblockable too? Thats just completely Op. If this is real the price will skyrocket very soon. Or am i missing something?
I think u dont See thatt u Need 5 blue manasymbols in your side. Thats a lot. But she is still good I think. I like it
Can the God cards be used as a EDH general?
I can see an argument both ways.
I mean she has/starts with a creature type when you cast her then she loses it?

It has Creature as type and Legendary as super, so it can be your commander.
Control just got a new toy! It can just sit there and Scry away all day, picking up what it wants and then, when it has control of the board start upping blue devotion and boom. 5/5 indestructible, unblockable. Amazing!
