I'm thinking this could see play just for its enchantment side alone... That pandemonium ability would be cool with Young Pyromancer among other token producing cards, cheap creatures, etc...
I'm SO SICK of the "too strong for Standard" argument. It's the new "Dies to removal". We can have a two mana 4/4 with a zillion abilities, but we can't just have Accumulated Knowledge. Makes sense.
I think his static ability will be Hellrider. And the activated ability could be multi-firebreathing aka Moonveil Dragon. That would work very well with the haste his hammer provides and the creatures it makes.
2 damage to each opponent for each creature seems very good in both Standard and EDH. Especially good when more than one creature enters at a time (like with new Elspeth, or Thatcher Revolt, etc). The +1/+0 is icing. Also, 6/5 for 3R is very good, and red should have no trouble making Devotion. This might be the best or second best of the gods.
Even better post-sweep, as it becomes an enchantment, sure, but still deals 2 for each of the next wave of creatures. I'm sliding in 2 in place of 2 Hellriders.

Damn, that's pretty solid. He works well with tokens of all sorts, and his on board effect can be really huge. Combos well with his Hammer, making dudes that then let him deal damage. The Hammer's sac cost does make his activated ability a bit weaker since you'd have a harder time doubling up on it, but since it gets better with each creature you have, the losses and gains probably match up somewhere. Seems very, very good.

u realise that when this is legal you cant play hellriders anyway anymore? if you dont play hellrider somewhere in modern.
Oh dear god.....there might be a combo deck(or just Engine deck) with him and Young Pyromancer/Guttersnipe in standard.....turning every Instant/Sorcery into a Flame Javelin!? HOLY CRAP!
