I don't know why, but for some reason Fanatic of Mogis reminds me of Worf from star trek. All I can hear when looking at it is Michael Dorn's voice saying "They have no honor"
Say i used it to bring back an aetherling and used aetherling's ability to exile it.
Does the whip make it so it cannot exile itself or does aetherling's ability go off causing it to come back at the beginning of the next end step as a new object
The whip exile triggers first and it's gone for good. The clause "if it would leave the battlefield, exile it instead", if memory serves, can NOT be gotten around through any means other than say a Stifle-esque effect that would counter the exile trigger.

The flavour of the horse is amazing, though it's not particularly strong. The flavour of the whip is amazing, and my god it is powerful. Fanatic of mogis seems fantastic in RDW
If I blink the creature resurrected by the whip with something like the Conjurer's Closet, as it was exiled (but returned), it will effectively return, right?

You know what, that works. Not that Aetherling would need it though.

Nope, read the article. The whip works with both Obzedat and Aetherling because the abilities themselves say"exile ~"
I can't believe anyone is excited about this card. It is absolutely unplayable. I wouldn't even play her in LIMITED. Easily the worst walker printed since the green elf one. Absolutely terrible.
Fanatic of Mogis. All I can say is I see myself dying to that card more than a few times.
It's trigger isn't all that far off from a hellrider if you're playing mono red, and in some cases better. Turn 4 kills won't be all too uncommon if a deck stumbles early

Wrong. The article uses Ghost Council as an example of a way around the trigger.

This is from Sedris, the Traitor King. Now I admit, the wording on the whip is different, so I'm not sure.
"If a creature returned to the battlefield with unearth would leave the battlefield for any reason, it's exiled instead -- unless the spell or ability that's causing the creature to leave the battlefield is actually trying to exile it! In that case, it succeeds at exiling it. If it later returns the creature card to the battlefield (as Oblivion Ring or Flickerwisp might, for example), the creature card will return to the battlefield as a new object with no relation to its previous existence. The unearth effect will no longer apply to it."
EDIT: Ok, confirmed in the article that I was too lazy to read.

Thinking 4 Fanatics, 2 Red Gods in the 4 slot, then new Dragon in the 5.
You should should listen to red cards when they are wheedling you into killing opponents with them single-handedly. They are quite capable and more than happy to oblige you with a demonstration. Try Fanatic of Mogis. You're in for a delightful, if incendiary, surprise.

They'll both come back.
That's right because once they're "in exile" their trigger looks to see that they're "in exile" then brings them back. I spaced on that part.

Zedruu EDH is gonna love that horse. *laughs*
Not to mention that the opponent can use the horse to block, a huge flavor fail. Should have been a simple artifact rather than an artifact creature.
on the draw
mountain Rakdos Cackler
mountain BTE BTE Firefist striker swing for 2
mountain Reckoner swing for 8
Mountain Fanatic of Mogus dome opponent for 10

Also Archenemy, if anyone plays that anymore.

Favored Hoplite is pretty decent. Another good weenie for Heroic.dec.
Heliod's Emissary will be an excellent Limited card. Offensive tappers are usually playable.
Fanatic of Mogis is likely also going to be stuck in Limited, but that reach!
Thinking 4 Fanatics, 2 Red Gods in the 4 slot, then new Dragon in the 5.
the new archon says: "i like".
in an orzhov control deck^^
