I think it's the "Moon Sage" part of her title, and that Innistrad's moon fascinated her, though she is also "Moonfolk." (also, the wolfir, helvault, and other fascinations captured her attention as well)
I will be honest, with me it was part hearing everyone else say it and part of one of the blurbs where they were talking about her and the innistrad moon and her fascination with it. I think the two combined to give me kind of a false knowledge of it as it were.
I won't lie, I thought I was wrong with how specific it was, but still, the scholar thing does fit really well here more so than someone coming to a plane based on race (as with the case with sorin, that was a little more...touchy, as vampires have races unto there race. So to have him go home to a vampire group identical to him was one thing, especially since it was his home plane. As with Vraska, most gorgons are very similar in nature, and span a large portion of planes ((I know, vampires span just as many)) but in the end, her home had been determined right away as being ravnica. Not saying she couldn't show up, but it would be a curiosity on why)
