Interesting choices. This set will sell well for sure. I look foward to buying my cards for decks. Heres to hoping that they have thoughtseize and mutavault in it!!
I like the old Ravager art more, but the new one, and this is rare, is by no means a disservice to the original. I just always see Arcbound creatures as smaller creatures, and that Ravager is HUGE. Also very blue.
I'm stoked to draft this set, I missed out on the drafting fun in the original Mirrodin block because I was a new player and drafting was daunting, and expensive.

Top is banned in Modern. You ain't seeing it in this set.
Oh. Welp, guess I've tipped my hand for how much I follow modern
Fine then, I'm excited because maybe they'll print Damnation again? It... lacks the shoddy detective work of my above statement, but makes up for it with the fact that I'd really rather own that than a top.
How is it even possible that there are still 120 cards left to spoil. Someone has opened an entire case and there are only two days of official spoilers even left. Are they just going to dump everything in one day? What the crap

On topic: new Countryside Crusher and Ravager artworks are both awesome. Feudkiller's Verdict at uncommon is going to be a pain in the ass for Limited, what little of it there is. I'll admit to being a little annoyed at some of the stuff at common, but I'm extremely satisfied with everything I've seen at uncommon and rare. Keeping my fingers crossed I can get my hands on a least a little bit of it (doubting I'll be able to find a box anywhere for under $300, and as someone who paid $175 for CA with the caveat that "I'll never drop that kind of money again", I really can't justify paying too much more than MSRP).
Now wait - what plane's this all on? The truck stop between Mirrodin and Lorwyn? (Needs more Kithin. Reprint Order of the Golden Cricket! Love that card in limited.)

This isn't any specific plane, but this is a reprint tour that happens every 2 hours of Magic's past, from 8th Edition to Alara. They are currently building a new part of the museum for everything before it, I hear there will be live Alpha shows.
For now I like Mirrodin and artifact in general stuff (aside from that cute myr being attacked), both power level and presentation. Giants and kithkin, on another hand, never were my thing.
That countryside crusher is a hugely improved artwork over the original! The affinity cards look awesome too. I'm hoping that we get a new token for Feudkiller's Verdict;
Because this one always made me sad when compared to the great art on the card itself.
the main reason the art is so much better is because the redone dart doesn't require the artistic styles of lorwyn giants. a lot of things from lorwyn had kinda qwerky appearances
I'm also hoping we get a new token
also for those who find this draft format interesting but can't afford the set you have a few options to actually play it.
I'd recommend using a pack generator individually and form the packs with either actually cards you own as a group or proxies. Then draft them as normal
People complain for everything... last week in my local store a boy bought a DGM pack, cracked a Voice of Resurgence, and he started to complain cause he wanted a Ral Zarek, people in store wanted to trade Ral Zarek into his VoR, and then he complained cause VoR is more expensive and bla bla bla
I wouldn't say that he is complaining about that potential trade. Those people are blatantly trying to rip him off. He may not want the VoR, but at the same time willingly losing half of the value in a trade is ill-advised. If they had sweetened the deal with a few other cards then the trade should have happened.
If I get the Countryside Courier and Life from the loam I will build a Jund Dredge deck with stuff like Worm Harvest, and all the other dredge cards. I LOVE the new art for the Arcbound Ravager and the Myr Enforcer. I almost contemplating buying two boxes of it and hope for some profit, THIS THING NEEDS FETCHES!
I don't see that here with the price point that stores are selling it at and the quality of cards present.
The only reason the price point is high is because there's quality. Raise the quality further and the price only goes up with it. The only other solution is increased supply, which hopefully Wizards will consider the next go around.

I love the design of the new Countryside Crusher, but it does a bad job showing scale, aka a giant type. Would have been neat to show a split tree or something and his foot prints getting bigger.
I highly doubt that.
I have not purchased a booster (outside of pre-releases) since Zendikar and prices do not seem to have gone down. There are far too many players with far too much disposable income for a boycott by a minority to have any impact.
Not only that but Wizards of the Coast is owned by Hasbro, a toy company. They have to make "X" amount of profit from every pack and with the success of the last few expansions Hasbro is probably telling WotC to milk the players for more money.

This is baseless and a blatent display of ignorance when it comes to business.
Hasbro would never suggest that Wizards "milk the players" when revenues are going up. Additionally, revenues are based on selling products wholesale, not individuals packs. Once product is sold to retailers, Wizards could care less about the sales because they've made their money.
What the retailers do after that is on them.
Modern Masters is simply an example of a company recognizing a demand from its customers and providing product to meet that demand.
