I gurantee that if we had posted
"What do you like most about slivers?"
Before this, very, very few people would have said "That they affect every player's slivers".
You all just hate change and love to complain.
Blue half talking:
Based on the look, it seems they want to show that the slivers are really evolving. It makes sense that they evolve into different forms, bipeds, 4 arms, maybe wings and horns. If you really think about it, the slivers we know are just their primitive forms... we have yet to see what slivers will be evolving into.
The "you control" phrase obviously is a gameplay choice over flavor choice.
Red half talking:
I still can't believe they are changing what slivers look and play. They are ruining the nostalgia of one of the most iconic creatures/mechanic in the History of Magic!
Is it still cool if I threaten to quit Magic because of this?
Why did they change the mechanic to now affect only your Slivers? It's totally against the sliver flavor. They help each other regardless, they are their own allies.
With the new wording we are goint to get ZERO actual reprints, and the cards are going to function way too differently. Someone making a casual sliver deck will only want the new ones - why am I helping my opponent's slivers?
Plus, zero connection with Ravnica and Theros to boot.
L-A-M-E. Worst "returning" mechanic ever.
No, I'd say it is pretty much in line with what slivers are all about: Slivers have always been about evolution, so it would make sense that they'd evolve to only boost their own hive.

It's about time for the reserved list to die, for the sake of Vintage and Legacy (And Commander).
It's strange that they moved away from templating cards like Sublime Archangel (Exalted, Other creatures you control have exalted) to the way they made these slivers (Sentinel Sliver: Silvers you control have vigilance). They could have made it "Vigilance, Other slivers you control have vigilance".
"It's such crap that they added the you control clause, oh what a horrible thing."
Here's an idea. If you want to mass all the effects, play your own frickin slivers. I find it hard to believe that you're realy that offended about the flavor. And as has been pointed out continuously, that's how all lords are now. Rules change. Get over it.
However, I agree on all counts that the art is atrociously Predator-esque and that just should not happen.
I do get it that Slivers have a huge fanbase, but seriously, how is this anything but lame?
They don't look like Slivers, they don't have the Sliver mechanic (this is the 4th time they are being reprinted btw, so yes the original mechanis IS an identity), they don't have anything to do with Chandra (M14 is being marketed as her set), they don't have anything to do with Return to Ravnica, they don't have anything to do with Greek mythology/Theros (and heaven forbid they do something like a Sliver invasion in Theros).
This is terrible news. I am honestly pretty pissed off at this.

Slivers are known to be formatted this way and it's clearly a sliver creature itself. I think they added the exalted and 'other creatures' on Archangel so that you'd be able to see each instance of exalted that exists, and if she attacks with nothing else on the field, it's more apparent that she still gets a boost.
I don't care where they came from, where did they get the idea that this new art would be appealing?
I mean sure alien vs predator jokes aside, why are slivers now humanoid-esque? Why are they all metallic/robotic... I don't know why they look straight out of Mirrodin.
I don't get it WotC. Explain it to me. Why/how/when did the brood get like....this?

My hope is that once again we shall have 5 color sliver legends. A new one would be totally awesome beyond words.
Also judging by the numbers and rarities of those spoiled there are going to be at least three cycles of slivers, 5 rare, 5 common, 5 uncommon. Plus the Mythic 5 color. Maybe we even get a sliver walker!

Just get over with it, and think about how you will sideboard against those dudes. The new image is just natural evolution, and slivers's most characteristical trait is to E-V-O-L-V-E, they wouldn't be in larva form all the time.
I will kinda kiss their old art style of weird-looking-bug-worm-type-thingies, but the new ones are cool too. Almost makes me think or that old horror movie "Mimic."
I hope they get a new lord as well. 'Sliver King?'

Sliver walker?? What comes next, a squirrel igniting the spark?
I gurantee that if we had posted

And how many people do you think would have replied with "I like the way they look"?

I have ZERO worries about sideboarding against them, trust me. They have always been pretty janky at Constructed. I love drafting though, and will have to deal with them in Limited. So yeah I am annoyed, just like there are people that like some stuff about Magic there are others who hate them.

It's possible. We do know that that the hive mind is sentient and these slivers seem to be a bit more self aware than the others, if you read the flavor text. I'd love to see a sliver walker myself.
Cube players just died a little. Each sliver in this set is one less card that might have made the cut in our cubes. How many non-themed, non-peasant/pauper cubes that you know of run a single sliver.....argh. Limited fodder all day long....
How many non-themed, non-peasant/pauper cubes run any specific commons/uncommons from recent core sets?
wtf are you expecting? Obviously the spoiled commons from a new core set weren't going to have a big impact on your cube.
