i really don't like the "you control" bit on these slivers, it kinda ruins the flavour of them entirely. i haven't played with slivers before but my friend had a sliver deck back when i first started so i know how brutal they can be...
True, but here's hoping that that reference is expanded upon in this. If there's flavorfully a war going on between people and Slivers, given that flavorfully the return of Slivers is kind of a big deal, we could possibly expect the setting to be important too.
Hopefully we see a heavy emphasis on Dominaria as a setting, since it's the only plane where slivers exist.... so far.
No, Dominarian Slivers were deposited there from Rath in the Rathi Overlay.
Noone knows how the Slivers got to Rath or where they originally came from.
Here's hoping that there are enough slivers to make a constructed playable deck
We've seen 2 at common and 1 at uncommon so far. Signs point to there being enough for a constructed deck. Whether said deck is actually competitive is a different story. So far none of the spoiled ones are exactly power creep-tastic, even with the new "creatures you control" change.
I could see them dedicating 18 cards in the entire set to slivers. 1 common, 1 uncommon, and 1 rare per color, plus a 5 color lord of some sort, possibly a reprint/new version of Metallic Sliver, and then maybe a Hivestone reprint.
Arkham, the 1920's. Investigators battle horrors from beyond time and space, risking life and sanity while conspiracies of cultists and malign servitors seek gateways for their outer gods to return...
Soon, the stars will be right! Great Cthulhu shall rise!

Actually, we've got 6 now, including two red commons, so it's likely we're looking at a minimum of 20 slivers, unless they decide to restrict the colors.
I can understand them getting a visual overhaul to appeal to newer players, but Groundshaker Sliver has some of the most blatantly CG'ed art since Kaalia. At least Blur and Battle Sliver look less like cheap monster movie CG effects and more like actual Magic cards.
Serious, look at the stupid thing. The Spartan 4s in Halo 4 look more believable than Groundshaker Sliver, and the Spartan 4s look like they are made out of Play-doh!
Sliver Queen is still on the reserved list, so there may be a major update to the list coming out since they wouldn't violate the reprint policy to make FtVs interesting.

Janus homage, it looks like to me.
We've only seen common ones so far. The rares could be much more interesting, and maybe mythic.

Also with the one sided clause that means probably no reprints at all.
(Sean) And no, sorry, no reprint on Sliver Queen. She'll be getting some new friends, though.
