I can kinda see that but I guess it's noteworthy to mention I'm one o' them folks. I've been playing magic casually since unlimited. As with the case with most folks in this boat after long durations of not playing I've assumed that I wouldn't be playing Magic again so I unloaded cards that at this point I guess I kinda regret... But the point is a friend and I have started going to shops playing standard FNM (I generally don't do more events than that because I have a job and a girlfriend but summer time might change this a bit since I don't work much that season except for half day summer school for a month) and pre-release stuff. Fatal Push month was when I started going. I didn't really notice the match ups getting easier after the change. I dunno... I'm not suggesting that this makes my opinion be all end all... and as mentioned it's not really a strongly held opinion of mine but as one of those casual folks crawling out of the wood work, the shift to tokens was much more of a let down than a relief.
WOTC has stated that they want FNM to be less competitive, not more. They're dialing back the rewards, in the hopes of getting more casual players out of the woodwork. Standard Showdown (which rewards rares, foils, and promo basic lands) is where they want the real competition to be, and they don't want the competitive players showing up to crush FNMs just for a playset of Fatal Push. Whether or not that's a good thing is certainly debatable, but that's WOTC's stance on it and the rationale for this decision.
In other (more new-promo-related) news, I've updated the OP with the latest Judge foils - Spellskite and Pendelhaven!

I've been playing FNM steadily for over a decade, this has made not one lick of difference, except now people give zero Fs about the promo. Everyone still plays just as cutthroat as before to win the packs/store credit. The terrible formats of the past year have done way more to warp FNM than anything WOTC ever did. Nowadays, there are almost ZERO casuals, most stating they don't feel like getting scraped by Energy repeatedly.
Sooo…any updates if they will ever print the foil Pro Tour Æther Vial? I’ve asked MaRo on his Tumblr account maybe 5 times over a year’s time and he never responded to it.
Modern: Goblins,Storm
Legacy: Burn
EDH: Simic Merfolk

I'm patient. I'd spend $140, maybe more, on each one when/if they do hit the market. How is that luck?
I mean, they may not hit the market at all. Good luck that they get released someday.
Also, $140 per seems pretty high, IMO.
