Characteristics
A small set of 156 cards, as follow-up on two large sets.
Features all ten guilds from Ravnica and their respective mechanics.
Features split cards which may be "fused" (cast together)
Booster packs do not contain basic lands. Instead each booster contains either a Guild Gate, a Shockland or a mythic rare land in the appropriate ratio of their rarities.
The Shocklands have the original expansion symbols of ''Return to Ravnica'' and ''Gatecrash''
The Gates are part of ''Dragon's Maze'' and have a ''Dragon's Maze'' expansion symbol making them part of the set and thus marking the first time cards other than Basic lands are printed multiple times within the same block. They have new art.
Maze's End is a mythic land that enables you to search your library for a Gate card; if you control ten or more Gates with different names, you win the game.
There is one planeswalker in the set (Ral Zarek)
Ten guild champions
Azorius - Lavinia of the Tenth
Boros - Tajic, Blade of the Legion
Dimir - Mirko Vosk, Mind Drinker
Golgari - Varloz, the Scar-Striped
Gruul - Ruric-Thar, The Unbowed
Izzet - Melek, Izzet Paragon
Orzhov - Teysa, Env(o)y of Ghosts
Rakdos - Exava, Rakdos Blood Witch
Selesnya - Emmara Tandris
Simic - Vorel of the Hull Clade
Bolas has no involvement in this block (MaRo)
The draft format is ''Dragon's Maze'' - ''Gatecrash'' - ''Return to Ravnica''.
A massive puzzle spans the city-world of Ravnica, and all ten guilds race to be the first to crack the mystery. Rumors abound that whoever navigates the maze of clues could command world-shaking power. Will your guild take the prize?
The Implicit Maze is a system of mana paths or leylines through the guildgates and districts of Ravnica that has manifested after the Guildpact was destroyed. On instruction of Niv-Mizzet and using Jace Beleren's notes, it was discovered by Ral Zarek. The maze was created by Azor I to be revealed in case the Guildpact dissolved. In this way, the founder of the Azorius Senate tried to foster an atmosphere of peaceful collaboration. At the end of the maze in the Forum of Azor lies great power. In order for it to be solved, all the guilds of Ravnica must participate at once. Niv-Mizzet has announced that each guild will have to send one champion as its delegate in the running of the maze. At an appointed time, the champions will meet at the Transguild Promenade, and embark on a race through the twists and turns of the maze. The one who triumphs, gains the power behind it for his or her guild. Others will fall to its dangers.
Prerelease
Each player attending the prerelease receives the same promotional card, which can ‘’’not’’’ be played in the sealed deck.
In the prerelease sealed format, players choose their guild and receive a guild pack of the appropriate guild which also supports a secret second guild. The which will share one color with the chosen guild. It will always be from the opposite set as your chosen guild (Return to Ravnica <> Gatecrash).
Each guildpack contains four Dragon's Maze booster packs, one Guild Prerelease pack from the guild, and one secret Guild Prerelease pack.
The two guild packs will be the same as they were in their original Prerelease, but will not have that set's Prerelease promo for those guilds.
The guild Prerelease packs will not contain a Spindown life counter, sticker, or guild welcome letter.
There's also a maze! Players will work collectively to advance their chosen guild through the ‘’Implicit Maze’’ each round. There are prizes for each guild that gets all the way through the maze, and special prizes for the first guild that does it.
The Implicit Maze Kit includes 1 Large Implicit Maze activity poster, 10 Guild progress markers, Guild insignia buttons, Foil basic land promo cards and Planeswalker Points Achievement cards
When the maze is completed, all participating players will receive a premium (foil) basic land promo card.

Yeah, now that you mention it, those are definitely the dates for Gatecrash.
I've never been more excited for a prerelease. I mean, I haven't been playing for that long, but the whole cooperative maze thing is really interesting. I wonder if they'll normalize the guild teams to make it more fair.

I believe that it was safe to presume that the "dragon" in the title of this set would be Niv-Mizzet, but is the maze a literal, physical maze, or is it symbolic and figurative, a metaphor for something else? I myself had imagined that the word referred to Niv-Mizzet's complex and labyrinthine schemes and how they would affect all of Ravnica. And what makes the maze Niv-Mizzet's? If he did not create the system of leylines, why is the the set named in his honor?

It's either another dragon or it's called in Niv Mizzet's name because he "discovered" it and announced it to Ravnica's folks.
All spoilers are public in monday before the prerelease and spoiler season will take three or two weeks. So I am assuming it will start 1st or 8th April, maybe few leaks will be available sooner.
:o....
sorry .tried to help but i ****** the dates. but i think that spoiler will start 8th april cause 1st april they will announce a lol upcoming product
I hope they will spoil one real card and one fake card on April Fools at least. Hopefully something no would think would be reprinted ever, like Dark Ritual and Counterspell for example. Two classic cards that both seem really unlikely to see the light of limited ever again at the moment. There's plenty of cards they could use for this.

Reprint Misdirection and Dominate . There, now you can you lose to your own cards instead of being mad at blue.
I haven't had a chance to investigate, but any idea how this will draft? Will we be drafting 15 cards from this booster, since the one slot will now always be a non-basic land?
I originally thought the name of this set was horrible, but the flavor is actually pretty sweet. There is something awesome about all of the guilds sending in champions to fight for some sort of mysterious prize.
glad i see the dimir champion's title is mind drinker
sounds like mill (ruffles and tinkers standard mill deck)
love the altered art for maze's end, it looks great(glad it's a mythic promo)

Ral's an arrogant shmuck, just as I imagined :P. I was hoping good old Niv would have voiced the trailer, with Michael McConnohie as his VA.
