If the store owner says that I can't trade in the premises, I'll just go outside. If he says that I can't trade within 10m of his premises, I'll go to 11 meters. If he says that he doesn't want to see me trading, I will put a basket over his head and continue trading.
Yes, he's a local legend. He's only known to take his clothes off before he goes into the Ladies' Lockerroom. Nobody knows what he does in there because he's invisible, but it's almost certainly tons of masturbating.
Well, the precedent is there with regard to Modern - Sensei's Divining Top was banned in Modern (and Extended before that) for the same logistical reason.

Every time I get close to completing a modern deck they ban the key piece. Guess I need to be faster about it or go in for the more expensive decks, sigh.
I don't like the fact they ban a card just because the matches can take forever, does this mean hightide gets banned in Legacy?
From what I understand, Sensei's Divining Top was banned for a similar reason (time). Also, Shahrazad was also banned in Vintage for time and logistic reasons.
Its not just because matches take forever, the deck was too fast and too consistent (for combo) for what Wizards wanted modern to be.
No, they banned it for time, they said so right in the article. The deck was fairly easily hated and was not consistent turn 3. But it did cause logistical issues.
To answer about High Tide, my guess is they did nothing there because there is maybe 4 Legacy GPs a year, and High Tide isn't a major deck for the most part. Modern has probably 8 GPs a year and Eggs always made up a fair amount of the field. Modern is also PT format.
I don't understand. I read the reasoning, but to me, it makes no sense. To be fair, I'm biased as I play Eggs and have invested time and money into the deck. For me, this is Wizard's announcement that Modern isn't and won't be the New Legacy that a good deal of us hoped for. They have relentlessly banhammered combo decks if they seem to stand even a chance of winning, and that is completely unfair to an entire demographic of players. I have been excited for Modern ever since it was announced, but they've banned deck after deck that I've attempted to play. I understand that this ban is aimed at alleviating the wait time some people spend at tournaments, but with that same logic, why isn't High Tide banned in Legacy? I've been trying to teach newer players through Modern that it wasn't always true that they could beat me with a 5-mana durdle or a really powerful dude. I have always loved combo and always try to make it work, but it looks like Modern just isn't the format for me anymore.
I like the unrestricting of Regrowth, I just bought an Unlimited one to replace my Revised one. Looks like I may need to do some testing and see if I'll end up using both now. Hopefully this will be a boon for the Gush/Storm decks that have been held down for a little while.

Whenever a deck is played and the opponent plays one card, then tells there opponent "Sorry" after playing it like Conley woods did at a recent GP while playing Eggs, you have a problem.
It wasn't that Second Breakfast deck took forever, it was the combination that it took for ever, was non interaction, and was blisteringly fast and consistent, getting a turn 3 kill on a consistent clip. It was a boring deck to play against, and an even more horendous deck to watch on video which Magic is trying to get more people to watch Event coverage. When I can watch a guy win a pro tour when on his turn 3 I am able to then go to the bathroom and take a lengthy crap, then wipe my ass, scrub my hands clean, then go get a drink and the turn is not done yet, how is that good for the health of magic.

Yea, those are MTG Bars. What can I say, I am a dork
But eggs in Modern is not realistic when you take into account the amount of time required to play out a turn.
I wish they would at least be consistent then. If they had banned something out of High Tide at the same time with the same reasoning, I wouldn't be as angry. But right now I'm pretty furious.

Less people play High Tide because of Candelabra of a Million Dollars so it is less of a problem. It also combos faster.

Ding ding ding. You don't need to draw your entire deck just to setup your win with High Tide. There is a decent difference in the time both decks take to win.
As for the announcement, that is too bad. I was casually building Eggs to just have another deck in the gauntlet, but now it will go back to wallowing in low tier Modern. Second Sunrise is one of my favorite cards in Magic :S. RIP sweet prince.

The formats are treated differently. Legacy has been giving the go ahead to have time taking cards and decks legal like Top and High Tide with only the most egregious case, Shahrazad, getting the axe. Modern has not been given such "privilege" and so decks and cards that take too much time are banned. In a way this might be the first bit of consistency they have shown with the banned list.
Regrowth being unrestricted in Vintage means nothing. It's just another unrestriction that has been a long time coming. Now we wait for Channel, Ponder and Flash to come off, among others.

Ponder won't be unrestricted unless Gush gets restricted again. In reality they need to restrict something from Workshops because at this point playing against it feels like the caricature of vintage where the match is decided by the dice roll.

It was a near certainty that it would be banned as soon as Kibler walked away during a match
but eggs was soo slow ........ 2-5 min a turn ? *** kkkkk
I require video of this event.
I feel like an unbanning of Bitterblossom would have been nice this time around.
