People-
Voice is very good, but it isn't the end of the world (or even control).
Just deal with it during your turn, and they get very minimal benefit.
Or even better, just counter the thing
The way some people are reacting, you'd think the token it made was a copy of itself...
Or Path it on your turn... either way it can be dealth with. I think the creature will really shine if she is in the right build, otherwise I cannot see it being that much of a threat.
I wish my 4/4s with haste and first strike that acted as Goblin Warchiefs were better and didn't die to instants and overshadowed all other 4 drops in the format. And that they had evasion too, and some way to dodge wrath effects.
Well, if the Azorious mythic is a s playable as it appears, then I'm afraid for my rites deck. I never thought I would be scared of a nevermore on a stick. A stick that can potentially make a better &/or cheaper Sphinx's Revelation with multiples. Huh.
Voice is a neat card. At least it can be a solid blocker vs aggro.
Putrefy is a nice nostalgic reprint. It's too bad it will likely be confined to limited play since most EDH/casual players have the copies they want.
It's funny seeing Lavinia in the set and then "waaah they never print anything for control" and "waaah the game is all about creature zomg it's Yu-gi-oh" in the same actual thread Putrefy is spoiled in.
Just...guh. Every single cards it's "oh no control is dead forever" and "oh no aggro is dead forever." Stop being drama queens, please.
Aren't mythics supposed to be the best cards in the set, which is why they're rarer than everything else...?
no Mythic is about coolness of the card
EX:
They can made a:
Chuck Norris, Master of the Multiverse3
Legendary Creature - Human Lord (MR)
Trample, Haste.
When you cast Chuck Norris, Master of the Multiverse, Lose the Game.
If Chuck Norris would ETB, lose the Game. Chuck Norris doesn't read books. He stares them down until he gets the information he wants.
There is no theory of evolution. Just a list of creatures Chuck Norris has allowed to live.
Outer space exists because it's afraid to be on the same planet with Chuck Norris.
Chuck Norris does not sleep. He waits. 30/30
This set is a total freak show. Let's make Teysa pro-Creature for 7, the demon that sets to 1, hatebear that comes back as something else, Council that dominates control mirror, fuse cards and everything else that is not normal. Let's mix them together and add Dragon to the name. Dragon's Maze!

I have divined your fate. You shall find your nemesis, a catastrophic clash. Devastation, misery for all, the unleashing of horrible curses and ferocious powers. Ruin, such ruin that I dream each night of blessed peace, assured that the universe is in balance once more...
They -really- don't want people playing interactive strategies any time soon... I was hoping that DGM would give control a hand, but it looks like the continued dominance of non-interactive decks is assured.
You mean Council of the Absolute, Render Silent, and some of the other W/U cards we haven't seen yet aren't giving control a hand?
I'm sick of Voice already, and the set is only 1/3 spoiled. What an intensely unfun, uninteractive card.
The fact that it's mythic, too... is just absolute bull****. The ability is mythic, sure. Put it on some pile of garbage seven mana creature. NOT A BEAR.
Mad.

Everything is true in some sense, false in some sense, meaningless in some sense, true and false in some sense, true and meaningless in some sense, false and meaningless in some sense, and true, false, and meaningless in some sense. Repeat this 666 times and you will reach enlightenment.
In some sense. The only good fnord is a dead fnord.
You mean Council of the Absolute, Render Silent, and some of the other W/U cards aren't giving control a hand?
Whats council of the absolute control? Other control decks? That non-creature clause farts on it potential. Render is just another one of those "cancel is the best we'll let you have" counters

I've concluded that my only possible reason for reading these threads is intense self-loathing. Seriously, it's a wonder people here haven't been laughed out of their LGSes.
Man, Voice is so format warping it isn't funny. It's like Undying on steroids. Power levels aside, such an elegant design, great art. Love it. Pillar of Flame seems really really good now instead of just really good.
The fact that they printed the new selesnya mythic and refused to let you name creatures pells on augistin 2.0 just goes to show how wizards wants to kill any non-creature based strategies in magic.
Good lord.
If Augustin could name creatures too, it would have been more busted than Voice of Resurgence if it had hexproof, AND regeneration (Aurelia at 4 mana, or Resto at 2 would be busted in UWR).
This nonsense about wizards wanting to kill non creature based strategies is just dumb. Sphinx's Revelation and Nephalia Drownyard routinely puts control into a plethora of top 8's.
This guy's gonna go into a green/white shell: a color combination that hasn't exactly set the competitive world aflame lately. So it gets a new, shiny toy...and? It's a great card, but other than some new G/W brew Naya midrange is the only deck I can think of that might need it (doesn't fit into blitz with thier Cavern-happy manabase), and that's an archetype that hasn't been on the radar.
TL;DR translation - simmer down.

Welcome to MTG Salvation. The cesspool of magic sites.
Been here for years and years and years. It wasn't always this bad, believe it or not. We're sitting in a format with Revelation and Snapcaster everywhere, backed by Supreme Verdict. Yeah, aggro's as strong as it's ever been, but so's control. I can only guess the people who complain control is being shafted either play bad decks or are bad players. Control's fine. Aggro's fine. Combo players have the decency to not cry constantly, and they actually do regularly get shafted. (Wo)Man up, people.
If the store owner says that I can't trade in the premises, I'll just go outside. If he says that I can't trade within 10m of his premises, I'll go to 11 meters. If he says that he doesn't want to see me trading, I will put a basket over his head and continue trading.
Yes, he's a local legend. He's only known to take his clothes off before he goes into the Ladies' Lockerroom. Nobody knows what he does in there because he's invisible, but it's almost certainly tons of masturbating.
The bear is nifty. Honestly, though, they need to give control more ways to interact with creatures for the first two turns. Give us Wall of Omens back, Wizards! We promise we'll actually play it this time!
As a red mage i'd just like to say hallelujah for not having to deal with that selesnyan monstrosity. Pillar of Flame is the best answer out there barring a counter...
I don't understand why every time a good creature is spoiled people whine about the death of control. Hasn't Blue/White been a really strong combination for months now? Weren't control decks with delver winning championships left and right last year?

You get a 1/1 token out of a verdict.... well, at least until you play more creatures. This guy is really busted.
It's not goyf, but IMO one of the best creatures ever printed.
There is buried treasure everywhere...in a graveyard.
FYI, uninteresting does not mean: not something from my guild.
