the card is a hydra. And it costs XRG. When you play it, it gets X +1/+1 counters. dang, also double strike. as a sorc (wish it was INSTANCES!) you can pay 1 and a R or G and put another counter (which is like two because double strike!)
might play this in my hydra deck that uses forests and mountains to produce R and G mana for the hydra creature spells in the deck
I think this guy could have a chance. Imagine this guy on turn 2 followed by increasing savagery. He seems pretty strong in the red/green beats deck with ghor-clan rampager and gyre sage.
All that said, he doesn't give you value when he comes into play. He has no haste or evasion. He has no resilience to removal.
I don't see him tearing up pro tours, but he is certainly powerful. Its amazing the power creep from craw wurm to this guy.

Junk mythic in constructed. Any card that is only at all good with combos is not a good card in constructed, especially when it's sweet spot is 4+ mana. Turn three this is garbage, an over-costed Fencing Ace. Turn 4, well, it still dies to my Dreg Mangler, Mogg Flunkies, etc. Much worse than Mirran Crusader or Silverblade Paladin, which are 2/2 with other, excellent effects, at 3 mana. Hell, this card is worse than Cryptborn Horror, which has a strong synergy with Exava, and in Jund aggro can actually regularly drop as a 5/5 or better turn 3 for 3 mana, etc. (I typically swing for 4-8 on turn three with Jund Aggro, but I have been known to swing for 10, allowing for a 10/10 trample for 3. Compared to your 1/1 double strike for 3? Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
EDIT:
And Cryptborn is almost unplayable in constructed. So this is... pew.

You're bad at evaluating cards. Stop it.
This card is fine and will probably find a spot in competitive standard.

If you think this is unplayable junk than you are severely underestimating this card. It is VERY powerful. The fact that you can cast this card T3 if you like is amazing because it pumps itself and has double strike. Sure, jund can drop a 5/5 T3, but I would rather have this. It has double strike, grows, and becomes stronger as the game progresses.
Card is terrible. 2/2 Double Strike for 4 should be Hound of Griselbrand, and investing more mana into one dude just to have it Azorius Charmed seems like a miserable idea. Jank mythic.
This will deffinitely see play in block, where it will be very powerful.
Only things I don't like about it is that it doesn't dodge alot of removal, and it cna't be pumped at instant speed (seriously it's a mythic it should be able to pump at instant speed) but this is still a great card.

If MTG is a part of your life, the formats are like relationships:
Standard/Block = The on-again, off-again holiday fling
Modern/Vintage/Legacy = Stable, homely. A ***** after absence/misreading
Limited/Sealed = Heart breaking free spirit
Commander/Cube = Agreeable, needy and expensive
Pauper/Peasant = Sweet, kind, practical, but shy and boring

It's an instant speed 5/5 trampler for 4. Wtf do you people want seriously? It has applications in populate/ above the curve beats decks, or in Bant control/ flash. I seriously think anyone mad at this card for any reason other than losing an attacker to instant speed wurm, should go home and make their own awesome card game and leave the rest of us alone.
i think this is a bit meh, to be honest. maybe once huntmaster rotates it might get a good shot at the 4CC slot, but until then i don't think its going to make the cut.
Hybrid Mana has to exist in DGM unless nothing is printed with Extort.
Hybrid CARDS however won't happen.
*Bites Lip*
I don't think it'll be constructed viable. But, wait and see I guess.

Agree - based on the logic used, all levelers are junk.
???
How do you not see a 3cc Student of Warfare/Figure of Destiny/Kargan Dragonlord all of which saw significant T2 play?! Then there's this huge upside with cards like Rancor.
This is the perfect card so you don't overextend or a great top-deck just like the Student/Figure/Kargan were.
i would like to be proved wrong though

That said, I really wish that Savageborn Hydra was constructed, to satisfy my inner Timmy who just wants to smash.
What a beating at a higher cc, but then again, what 6cc creature in RG isn't a beating?
It is quite epic, it's just not really Constructed playable.
