Stage is silly and kinda embarassing, really. But powerful and versatile so it will be played.
Wow, Slaughterhorn is insane! Giant Growth is powerful and this thing is almost always better, being uncounterable AND can be a warm body if needed. Candidiate for 9-land Stompy in older formats? Too bad it's attacking only, but in 9-land stompy if you're using your pump spells on defense you've lost anyway.
Yeah, that was my point- a lot of people have been excited about using this in conjunction with DD or Cavern,
not really realizing it doesn't work the way they'd hoped.
I was just pointing out a couple of things that *do* work
Oh, okay. I thought you were saying it had a broken interaction with it. My bad.
Can you expand on the silly and embarrassing part? I'm just interested in your opinion on it, not trying to be a jerk.
I will second the question. Also not wanting to be a jerk, but very curious how this is silly or embarrassing?
Also Slaughterhorn I think is a definite shoe-in for a trial run in Stompy of some form.

I see the appeal of a Shakespeare themed deck, but I'm gonna make me a The Tragical History of the Life and Death of Doctor Faustus edh theme deck! Maybe Ertai, The Corrupted playing the role of Faustus? I'm excited...

Sometimes I feel like the word "interactivity" around here is akin to the word "electrolytes" in sports drinks. The public doesn't really know what it means, but they figure it's a good thing to have.
Because this exchange was truly helpful. With all of your hard work in the Rumor Mill recently, it's crazy that people don't remember, let alone thank you, for all of your well-thought-out insight and thorough analysis of new card-card interactions.
Because it become a copy of any land on your deck, or can't you see something good in have 8 shocks?
Well, first of all I should be playing one of the M10/Innistrad taplands (is there a better name for those?), which are both better than this if I want dual-color land, and they interact very well with shocklands. So I should already have 8 dual lands before I even consider this. So then I could play this if I want shock/taplands numbers 9-12.
Or I could just play a guildgate. The disadvantage is it enters play tapped, so if I need one more mana that turn it's not as good. The advantage is that if I need colored mana, I do not need to spend 3 mana and then wait until the next turn to get my colored mana. And while I might regret not having that one mana on the first turn the guildgate comes out, I can just easily regret having to choose between getting the colored mana I need next turn and using that three mana to cast something. If it's much more important to get that one mana, there are other, better options, such as playing the Innistrad block ability lands (Wolf Run or what have you), Cathedral of War, Ghost Quarter, etc. Or just playing more basic lands. Honestly, if I need colored mana badly for my deck, basic lands are a better choice than this. You should have something you want to copy for a reason other than color fixing.
So, in the scenario where I need colored mana ASAP, a guildgate is better than this every time.
The only lands worth copying with Thespian's Stage are ones that offer more than one mana (Cloudpost, Urzatron pieces), have very strong abilities (Maze of Ith), or are legendary lands controlled by your opponent that you want to destroy with the legend rule.
However, destroying lands with it is not terribly efficient, since there are better options for getting rid of legendary lands (such as Wasteland or Tectonic Edge), so you should have a reason to run it other than that.
I don't understand why people are suggesting you copy Nephalia Drownyard with this. If you want more Drownyards, why wouldn't you just run more Drownyards? Unless you desperately want Drownyards numbers 5-8, there's no advantage to running this instead of just adding another Drownyard.
You need to have either something you want to copy in your own deck (which you're already maxing out on, or you have multiple lands you might want additional copies of) or you need to have more than one thing you'd want to copy. There's literally no reason to run this if your only reason for doing so is that you might copy a Drownyard your opponent's playing when you could just increase the number of Drownyards you are playing. At least I wonder about that because I saw someone suggesting that you could copy Drownyard and still have 2 left in your own deck (or you could play a 3rd Drownyard, not need to hope you have a target for it to copy and then have to spend 3 mana making it into a copy of an opponent's Drownyard, and still have 2 left in your own deck).
ETA: I forgot the last reason you might want to use this card: because you have a great land that has a bad ETB drawback, such as Lotus Vale. In that situation, it's actually better than Vesuva, since it will not get those ETB triggers. However, for most land copying purposes, Vesuva is better (Thespian's Stage has the advantage that you can use it for colorless mana until you have a target to copy). Of course, I'm not sure it's worth using just to get around those ETB triggers.

take a look at serpos of urug's replies to a lot of threads, <he is pretty much a jerk who likes to rile people up like a troll>. just was at a few different threads reading and in all 3 <i see him acting a fool like he is here> and then defending himself after. anyway, just an FYI not a flame. now on to the card, thespians's stage, i love it, especially the art and the 2 characters on the stage who have some history, the card is awesome in itself as well.
The best way to teach them how to play is to give them a How to Play guide, a full set of the rules, and a knife. Then you should send them out into the wilderness and wish them good luck. That's how my parents taught me how to play.

You could have answered the question in the time it took you to post this.

I could see it being used as like a 1-of in control mirrors, probably copying Nephalia Drownyard.
Fun card!

could you please link me to the comments? I have tried to find them.

Stage is easily an EDH staple as well.
Gets rid of legendary lands and it functions nicely with crucible of worlds and strip mines, or even as a 3rd maze of ith, cabal coffers, etc
16 post is also brutal
EDIT: read an above post and the best target for vesuva is thespian's stage so you have 2 lands that can swap about the field

EDH for sure.
Its most the time worse than Vesuva.
For constructed thats actual a major thing, it doesnt combo with specific cards that Vesuva does.
So said, its a "fixed" Vesuva, that does what makes vesuva good, minus the good combo stuff.
