Wow, I like that one drop extorter. Drain their life, then use it to ping their planeswalker? That's doable. And the elf looks great, too. I'm disappointed that the leyline guy has nothing to do with leylines.

Umm yeah, goddamn having both a gruul card and a Simic Card spoiled tonight, which makes me desperately want to play both at pre release.
The Evolve Elf is very good, and a decently costed Bloodrush creature with an even more reasonable bloodrush cost.

Yea, those are MTG Bars. What can I say, I am a dork
The Rampager wins out of nowhere by forcing damage on a big guy through or turning into the beater itself. The craziest part is that it's an uncommon. Gruul just got a huge tool in limited and constructed.
I don't even know what to make of how good the Sage can be. It gets pumped so easily; the only downside is that it doesn't do anything without another creature. With even just a bear though... it turns into an aggressively costed card. Any bigger and it's a game-winning monster.
The Thrull looks interesting too. Removing counters from permanents can be a pretty powerful hoser, and you can get the mana sink going right away.
Bloodrush guy is great but I don't know if he'll be able to compete with Hellrider in the 4 drop slot. The Evolve ramp dude would obviously be broken in half as a 1 mana 0/1 but might not be good enough at 2 mana. =\
He will just be added as an uncounterable pump spell that can be a creature if you need it. Versatile card actually...
I love that Thrull Parasite has great art, can annoy planeswalkers AND has extort. Can't ask for much more out of a card that costs B!
Rampager is strong and will see lots of play. Lots of cool blowout potential with that cheap boost, he's almost a giant growth when you don't want to play him as a creature.
Sage is awesome! Great ramp, minimal drawback of tempo if they slow you down, and when you can't use the mana, it's likely beating face. Very good.
Man, gotta say after all these, and the 2/1 UG sharkypants, GTC is looking much much better.
I'm fairly disapointed in this spoiler season, it's not really making me want a box of gatecrash. Hell I might even skip the prerelease to sleep instead.

......why are so few people talking about that freaking EPIC 1CMC EXTORT CARD?!?!?!? When the extort bear was revealed I read a number of posts with variations of "oh well, guess this is as close as we're gonna get to a 1CMC extorter", screw that, this guy not only extorts for 1 he even has a versatile ability that can keep him relevant for days!!!
I can play him in aggro, midrange, control whatever! And i will!
Constructed: 3/5. This has a home in certain decks. Modern Infect may find a use for it, and the ability to give trample at 2 mana can't be underestimated.
Gyre Sage:
Limited: 2.5/5. Only as good as what you can drop with it. But extra mana in limited is never a bad move.
Constructed: 3/5. Someone will break this card. The slower your meta, the better he becomes.
Thrull Parasite
Limited: 3.5/5 Small body, won't win any trades for you, but extort at 1 mana is terrific. Not sure how often the second ability will matter in limited.
Constructed: 3/5 Will be as good as extort allows it to be, but it is a great start.
Leyline Phantom
Limited 1.5/5. Well... it does something... I guess. Every set needs filler... and its only a common...
Constructed 1/5. Nope. NOPENOPENOPENOPENOPE. At 5 mana, you need more than this.

You don't call "dying to removal" if the removal is more expensive in resources than the creature. If you have to spend BG (Abrupt Decay), or W + basic land (PtE) to remove a 1G, that is not "dying to removal". Strictly speaking Goyf dies to removal, but actually your removal is dying to Goyf.
This set irritates me to no end. The mechanics are solid, and the card concepts seem cool, but everything just feels like it was developed to hell. Yet again, there was a chance for a great card that plays incredibly well with the mechanics in the set, but the pricing of it makes it all but unusable. Why did the sage have to cost 2 instead of 1? The only way you are gonna get any use out of it on turn three is if you have an Ornithopter in your hand. That just feels ridiculous.

Seriously? That 1 drop Extort is very, very good.

And dat elf. My Animar and dat elf!
Best spoilers yet.
Hoping for a cure, or at least an outbreak.

You must never have wanted to use Colossal Might on defense, eh?
and dear mother that gruul trample dude, +4/+4 and trample for 2?!? thats gonna be nuts.

It's a perfectly fair card for constructed but it seems like an absolute beast in Limited.

All but the mono-blue seem like great cards to me.
Can't wait to see how the black one does with undying effects.
It isn't strictly better, but it is pretty damn close. Obviously way better, probably constructed viable.
Yeah, that's the first thing I thought of after planeswalkers.
It also has some nice interaction with Evolve and Unleash.
