Taking lotus or recall? I loled. These guys know nothing. Obviously slamming library or ring.
As neat as this is I really have no faith in WOTC's ability to design a cube I would approve of.
IMO, unless I've already drafted most of a deck, I'd pick either a Mox, Sol Ring, Black Lotus, Ancestral Recall, or Time Walk. If it's Pack 1, I'd be more likely to pick a Mox or Black Lotus, as it doesn't cut me off colours.
Mind Twist restricts me to black and isn't even all that powerful late-game. Mana Crypt and Mana Vault strongly pull me towards cards with high amounts of colourless mana in their costs (and really fast decks). Mana Drain is situational compared to Ancestral Recall or Time Walk. Timetwister requires a specialized deck (UR Counter-Burn-Aggro? Storm Combo?) I doubt I can draft. And Library of Alexandria strongly pulls me towards a long game, a solid curve, and not dumping my hand on the table.
Nay, I'd rather keep my options open with mana rocks or grab a total bomb.
...And yeah, when I saw that no one could actually win the Power 9 through these Cube drafts, I cried a little. So will people attempt to own the MODO Power 9 anyway through hacking?
It says they included the Ravnica Signets. Maybe this is where that new signet art is from.
I'm thinking the same thing, though it would be pretty strange for them to be using that new art in promotional images and the guild fan kits if they aren't actually going to appear anywhere in the block.
The new art that (as far as I know) has never been used before now is on Black Lotus, Mana Vault, Mana Drain, Library of Alexandria, and Mind Twist. The others have been on reprints, promos, or oversized cards given at Legacy tournaments.
Don't hold your breath for gold-bordered cards. Maro mentioned on Tumblr recently that doing stuff like that, though technically doesn't violate the letter of the reserved list, definitely violates the "spirit" of the reserved list. Maybe in 100 years, when all current Magic players and Wizards employees are all dead, then maybe they'll reprint cards from the reserved list.

Stuff like this is why I have a hard time respecting WotC's apathy towards MTGO. They could easily make it slightly more expensive and non-phantom and then vintage would actually exist on MTGO. They already coded everything. They simply arbitrarily do not want certain cards on MTGO.

You apparently did not read the full article. Specifically the letter at the end of the article.

Phantom packs...you won't be able to keep the cards you draft.
Here's the other relevant article.
It's online, the players don't have the cards added to their collections after the draft.

Good thing I have book burning.

At the end of the article, Wizards mentions that you will be able to collect P9 by the end of 2013. That is what I was referring to.

So much wrong with this post lol
Feel free to tell me yours!
Ah, fair enough. I missed that part.
The art for the Moxen, Mana Crypt, Time Walk, Timetwister, and Sol Ring are old news.
I do like the new Ancestral Recall art, though; a nice and cheeky reference to the old art.
Step2: Make them physical cards/packs
Step3: Shut up and take my money.

Because people obviously hate powered cubes. /sarcasm
