I'm really excited about this, it goes straight into my Kaalia punisher EDH deck.
The fact that it is instant speed it what makes this so good. It can hate on reanimation and flashback granting effects in response to them being cast.
The artifact removal is just a good piece of versatility.
The instant speed burn everyone with dudes out is a good answer to token swarm in any format in which that deck exists.

Smile your day could be worse, so I did smile and it was worse.
Why do you guys think this is a bad card? It's Shatter, Tormod's Crypt, and Lava Spike-ish all in one. It's extremely versatile and should be a popular card for BR decks.
Not what I was expecting at all. The artifact hate is a nice touch on a black card. I get the graveyard hate, but not sure why here considering there is a lot of colorless ways of dealing with GY. It does seem a bit underwhelming as a package.
It's understandable blue control players would be shocked and in denial at the notion of this card, since their decks have been dominating multiple formats for an eternity yet they've curiously never once had to deal with any counter-hosers that weren't ineffectual, narrow CRAP.
lets pretend u only have to deal 4 damage to them.
how is this better than a removal spell?
Does murder and friends hose GY strategies? This card has potential; maybe it will see some SB action, maybe it won't. Too many "experts" dismiss cards as bad only to have them find a place (my favorite was blighting being called unplayable). This card is cheap, instant speed, and a versatile hoser: I'd never out outright dismiss a card with those qualities.
Also I was responding to the strawman that the Kiki player needed to have 20+ creatures out for this to be lethal; thats obviously not true. If you want to dismiss a card then go for it but at least be fair in the assessment of it.
I had a feeling the damage-dealing part of Rakdos charm would involve dealing some sort of damage to yourself, and I think that it's pretty flavorful. Artifact destruction is fine and useful. Don't like the graveyard exile though; it's a copy of Jund Charm, and does.
Biggest strike against this card is that it's a dead card against Draw-Go control decks if they become a thing again, and other sideboard cards can do what this does more efficiently most of the time. I have no doubt that it will be useful in draft, where there will always be a use for it, but I don't think it quite makes the cut for constructed.

I don't think the card is bad per say, but it's just not on the same power level as the others. The others have good situational stuff as well as kind of a "default out" that's good to take even if the other abilities aren't relevant to the board state, and this one lacks that ability

you mean people who refuse to lose in a internet battle, right? this kind of mindless arguing till the end would make the person sound stupid in real life.

how is this better than a removal spell? which is also better against more things? what b/r or jund deck are you gonna play this in? jund already has better answers than charm. and b/r isnt a deck. and this card certainly wouldnt make it a deck.
i would rather have removal over this card in my hand against spint every time.
people are just trying to come up with the worst ways to make a bad card look good. i'd put money that this card wont be played to trump splinter twin. because #1 its not played enough, and #2 there are better cards against it.
You would rather kill the creature than win the game? Uhh, alright.
I once farted during the final match for prizes at an FNM. It was a tense moment, everything was quiet, control vs control, I was about to mana leak, thought about it.. and farted. Then mana leaked.
That actually might be the best charm for edh (izzet charms insane efficiency might make it better, even if the first two modes aren't what you are looking for in an EDH deck).
Instant speed graveyard hosers and artifact destruction are both very powerful in EDH, but it's always sad taking out fun pet cards for the various answers. A card that hoses both at instant speed lets me run more of the kind of cards I build an EDH deck to play with in the first place.
AND it kills infinite token strategies (since they need enough tokens to kill multiple opponents, there will almost always be enough tokens to murder the infinite-user). I'm gonna have a lot of fun with this card.
UR = Removal
GW= Removal
BR? Hmm, let's see, they can have shatter.
Rakdos has been getting the shaft pretty hard so far in comparison.
Yeah, that's exactly how I feel. This should have had -2/-2 until end of turn in place of the graveyard hate. Or hell, maybe in place of the last ability, it could have been all creatures get -1/-1 until end of turn. That would have been pretty sweet. Oh well. This is the final decision for me to just play Izzet or Golgari decks. We still have a lot of cards left to spoil, but I doubt anything at the common rarity is going to sway me at this point.
This is a shatter with two guild hoses attached. Hurts tokens and hurts graveyard effects.
Sad. :/
This is the best description I've seen. Is shatter maindeckable? No, and neither would this be. Great EDH card. I just wish the charm for a guild had more impact than SB or EDH. This is the charm for one of the guilds in RtR and the best uses seen so far are against one modern deck, EDH, and a possible SB card. Just not very good.
You would rather kill the creature than win the game? Uhh, alright.
that creature removal is useful in more than 1 matchup. that creature removal also can get their important things when they tap out.
lets say i have 1 card in hand and its a removal spell, i can kill their creature asap when they try to combo. if i just have this is my hand, they can play their combo tapping out on a turn, then go off the next if they are under no threat and i have 2 mana open.
it amazes me all these people disagreeing with me have never done anything in this game and dont even post in competitive forums.
This card is complete ****. I mean, they could have done Shock or Duress or all creatures get -1/-1 (or +1/+1) until end of turn.. That would be legit. Actually, maybe a little too good, but seriously. They just keep ****ting on BR.
I really don't get why this doesn't have a -X/-X ability on it instead of just getting smelt. I guess its still a good sb card for graveyard and token matches.

Useful in more than one matchup? Like, say, removing a graveyard or destroying an artifact might be?

Foreigning out SI, currently 33/75. The only thing better than a T1 kill is doing it with cards no one has ever heard of and/or can't read. If anyone has any of the usual pieces, PM me. I'm willing to buy/trade.
I agree that this card isn't very good. It's pretty sweet in EDH, and it'll likely just be a sideboard card for Standard. It doesn't have much place in Modern or Legacy.
That being said, one particular poster seems to have taken offense at this card, and I'll go ahead and set the record straight on the matter.
lets say i have 1 card in hand and its a removal spell, i can kill their creature asap when they try to combo. if i just have this is my hand, they can play their combo tapping out on a turn, then go off the next if they are under no threat and i have 2 mana open.
You are completely wrong. Yes, this is not a good card. Yes, it probably shouldn't see any play in Modern. However, on the very, very particular point you are attempting to argue, you are dead wrong.
If you are talking about playing against Splinter Twin, then this card is only worse than removal in exactly one situation, and that is when they are trying to kill you with their Plan B.
If they are attempting to kill you with, say, a Wurmcoil Engine, or something other than the combo, then removal would be better. However, if they are trying to kill you with the combo, then this card is much, much better.
Why? I'll feed you, baby bird.
Because they literally cannot win with the combo as long as you are able to resolve this card. They can't do it. Eventually, they need to make the tokens and they need to swing. This card will kill them immediately upon resolution.
Now, I'm not advocating actually playing this card against them. Doing so means you've put this card somewhere in your 75, and that was probably a mistake. Removal is much more versatile against all of the other decks in the format that do not happen to get hosed by this narrow card.
However, this narrow, bad card happens to do one thing very well; it shuts down infinite token strategies. As long as that is their only means of killing you, then you can sit back and just force them to discard their hard counters because they will probably deck before you do.
One other side note... This card doesn't give a crap about Spellskite. What removal spells see any play in Modern that can say that?
Some people like to try and justify uses for bad cards. Well, the opposite is also true. You're trying to justify how bad this card is by simply making up reasons and lying about what little usefulness it does have to make it seem even worse than it already is.
Seriously, leave the horse alone. We know this isn't a good card. What did that horse even do to you, anyway?
it amazes me all these people disagreeing with me have never done anything in this game and dont even post in competitive forums.
Claiming that people have "never done anything in this game" because they don't post in competitive forums is pretty much pure ignorance. You have no idea how good/bad these people are at the game other than your own misinformed opinion based on the posts you actually have read by them. And last time I checked, Kai Budde and Jon Finkel don't spend their free time posting in competitive forums on MTG Salvation.
I'll even issue a little challenge. You know nothing about me other than the posts you can find by me, my join date and my user name. How good am I at Magic? Explain your response and, if necessary, definition of "good at Magic." Do I have any Top 8's? Have I won the Pro Tour?
We understand that the Party Troll molested you as a child. We understand that Tiago has been making threatening calls about the money you owe him. We understand that you even thought Burning Vengeance was going to be a powerful deck.
But it has to stop. This graveyard hate is absurd, especially when you're willing to ruin what could have been a perfectly good card by shoving a shovel into its poor hands and treating it like some low rent Gravedigger. It's especially embarrassing when you are invalidating a major theme of Innistrad, one of your most popular and best-selling sets.
Respect your history. Don't just try to exile it and pretend it never existed.

The wedding is over. Now it's time for the honeymoon.
Cool card. Is it useful in every matchup? Probably not. But it's the kind of card that can become a sideboard staple, at least in Standard. Hates out artifacts (okay maybe not that relevant in ISD/RTR Standard), weenie armies, and graveyards. Like the rest of the charms, it's one of those things where it's rarely a dead card (though this one probably less rarely than the Azorius or Izzet charms). Seems like a good, if unexciting Spike card.
Serious Owl approves.
