Why do people keep judging her on her ultimate? You can just repeatedly ratchet her up for Vindicates. You don't just crank her up to her ultimate and fire it off the first chance you get. It really confuses me when people talk about the game getting dumbed down, but then never attempt to skill-play the cards they're given.
I'm hoping for a spell that forces creatures to attack a planeswalker you control (like Lure but for your PW :D).

I think it's because that's what people look at first lol. Honestly, I think she's great, no Knight-Errant or anything, but she's balanced, CMC is on par with her abilities, and she has an interesting ultimate. It's not a bomb, but utilizing the scavenge mechanic, Rancor, Selensya's Charm, Faith's Shield yada yada, it has potential. It's getting it there that could be fun to try, plenty of ramp available for it.
Think of it like Liliana of the Veil, she was hyped when she dropped and now she's basically a 3 mana Edict. -shrug- I still like her, but she's exactly what she is. Vraska could be utilized the same way...or in tandem actually. Along with Mutilate, she and Lilliana could be a neat two hit combo for removal that sticks around.
But heck, that's what deck brewing is all about right?

The PW is ok.
Liliana was indeed hyped, but she is very powerful on modern and a game winning card, but with GB being a power house, Liliana will be useful on standard too.

lol yeah I remember pulling my foil Lilliana when she was close to $100 and then watching it drop.
And yes, Lilliana definitely found a home in Modern which was lovely. Saw her quite a few times last week in the Player's Championship too which made me happy.

If that is your argument she is a 5cc anything but lands vindicate as she dies the turn she doesn't use her +1. How is that amazing? Give me a real spell any day.
If that is your argument she is a 5cc anything but lands vindicate as she dies the turn she doesn't use her +1. How is that amazing? Give me a real spell any day.
What? She pseudo-vindicates and dies, just every time? I think you're looking at this entirely the wrong way. She pseudo-vindicates, and if she DOESN'T die on an attack, she's already past a 1 for 1, with the potential to get more and more insane the longer she's allowed to stick around.
They are 1/1s without evasion and do not have deathtouch. She is not good at all, and will see very little play for her ultimate unless some crazy populate deck comes out and then you're probly not playing her because you have more efficient token creators anyway.
Negative much?
Anyway, who in their right mind would activate the ultimate in a field full of blockers? I sure won't, I'll just wait patiently with my Vraska, and activate her ultimate when the coast is clear, with Mutilate to clear the field and some good removal. Dropping her early game would net you nothing, but once mid to late game comes, that's where she shines the best. She becomes a threat because her ultimate is an auto win thus causing your opponent to react by attacking her, but at the cost of dying from her +1. If she dies, at least she has taken several creatures with her, something not to laugh at, since usually when you attack a walker creatures don't die, but this one takes them with her. Heck I would be happy to welcome the attack if they dare.
#1 - What's the dumbest idea you ever had?
#2 - 15/15 for 15?
#1 - Make it dumber
#2 - Give it protection from removal and counter?
#1 - DUMBER!
#2 - Add Timewalk?
#1 - DAMN IT MAN, I SAID DUMB!! DUMB !!!
#2 - It destroys everything when it attacks.... And wait, I have a friend who plays mill decks... I want to beat him too.
#1 - Excellent! Recess is over, go back and learn sex-ed with the other 6th graders.
That planeswalker, Vraska, is very awesome, and I especially like how she can punish any creature who dares to attack her. I initially was worried that he final ability would be too powerful, and that it takes away the uniqueness of Phage the Untouchable's ability, but the fact that the creatures are very vulnerable (i.e., low toughness and no protection) and also lack Phage's second ability does help to balance that. It is also very nice to have a gorgon planeswalker, adding to the racial diversity among current planeswalkers in the game; I wonder if she is native to Ravnica, or from another plane?
However, now that both planeswalkers for this set have been revealed, does anyone wish that Ral Zarek had been the other walker, rather than another incarnation of Jace? I certainly do, and I know that this is not the thread in which to discuss this thread, but I still am very displeased that Zarek has not yet appeared in the card game. Does this mean that we shall need to wait until the third set of this block for him to appear?

At 5 mana that takes turns to ramp up she better be more than a 1 for 1. If that is your whole argument then you are looking at this from an EDH or casual tabletop play format which is not what I am discussing. I am trying to explain how in a competitive environment for 5 casting cost for her abilities she is near worthless. If you're playing black you'd really rather just have murder or even a liliana if you needed that planeswalker. I honestly can not think of any scenario where I would want this card more than a more efficient kill spell.
By all means try and play her I will need people to trade her to at the fantastic prices these hype trains lead planeswalkers on, but she is one really awful planeswalker.

Absolute worst case for this Planeswalker is probably 10 bucks a copy a few months down the line.
the planes walker is crazy and will see alot of play. ok swing my guy just to kill her but he dies as well or she can kill any one of my guys i have out. she's going to be very good but very hard to master.
I think she's actually really straightforward.

Dead Reveler is interesting. It's weird to see a butt that big on a black common. I actually think it's one of the more interesting unleash cards spoiled so far, because it actually makes it more resilient in addition to being slightly more aggressive.

I fear I won't have much time to play Magic these days.
I get to watch worlds develop around me.
I get to watch great leaders, terrible oppressors, and trend setters rise and fall.
Limited, Standard, Modern, everything is a different playing field I feel I can observe, but will not actually touch.
I look forward to the stories I will hear.
And more so to the ones I will watch unfold first hand.
Isn't the unknown exciting?
Thank you lol my girlfriend and I were having this convo last night when everyone was talking about her dying to Geist. We both were like, "They all die because it doesn't specifically target them"
Also, yes to the Parallel lives. I'm suspecting we'll see that card get used more with the populate mechanic incoming.
She's an overcosted desert twister. Don't waste your money.
